Skin Care Expert Sharon Kleyne Announces Sunscreen May Not Be Enough

Grants Pass, OR (PRWEB) May 07, 2013

Bio-Logic Aqua Research Founder and water and health advocate Sharon Kleyne, recently announced that merely applying sunscreen when exposed to direct sunlight may not be sufficient to prevent reactions such as heat stroke, carcinoma or melanoma. The skin moisturizing innovator believes that to obtain maximum benefit, sunscreen users must become educated on the limitations of the product and on ways to minimize these limitations

Kleyne hastens to add that sunscreen products are extremely effective and have saved many lives. In the present era of increasing solar radiation, sunscreen has become indispensable.

The primary limitation of sunscreen, according to Kleyne, is that it can cause a backup of toxins in the skin and body that would normally be excreted through the skin along with perspiration. The toxin backup can cause an inflammatory immune response that could be physically dehydrating and actually increase the risk of dehydration diseases such as heat stroke.

Kleyne advises always make sure you are well hydrated before going out in the sun and that you remain well hydrated while in the sun and afterwards. In other words, increase your water intake. Mrs. Kleyne cautions against making sunscreen your only sun protection. The best solar protection is light, loose clothing, wide-brimmed hats and shade. If you begin feeling overheated, clammy, weak or dizzy, get out of the sun immediately and drink small sips of water until you feel better.

If your skin begins to show signs of sunburn, cover up and then hydrate your skin with a pure water mist.

Kleyne advocates applying sunscreen any time you believe your skin will be exposed to direct sunlight, summer or winter. The ideal time to apply sunscreen, according to Kleyne, is immediately after a bath or shower, when skin is at its most hydrated. Kleyne highly recommends the use of make-up that has a sunscreen SPF rating.

For maximum benefit, says Mrs. Kleyne, sunscreen should always be applied with a foundation of knowledge.

Riverside Facelift Expert Discusses the Importance of Sun Protection

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2013

"Patients who have had a facelift done need to be exceptionally prudent about keeping themselves safe from the sun, especially in the six months immediately following their operations," reminds Dr. Sadati.

During the procedure, Dr. Sadati not only tightens the muscles in the face, but he also tightens the skin in order to eliminate the appearance of wrinkles. This surgical technique restores a person's natural youthful appearance to their face, but it also makes them especially vulnerable to the rays of the sun. Dr. Sadati notes that Riverside patients who do not take extra caution to protect their faces from the sunshine after their operation may suffer the consequences, such as darkened scars that are highly visible, premature formation of wrinkles, and dark spots on their skin.

In the blog post, Dr. Sadati offers patients the following tips to keep themselves protected.

Stay indoors as much as possible, especially in the first six months after the surgery. This is one reason why many patients choose to have a facelift procedure done in the fall or winter months because that is a time of year when they would be staying indoors regardless.

Wear protective clothing and try to stay shaded as much as possible. Patients should make sure to wear hats or head coverings at all times, preferably something with a brim that provides shade for their face. Even if exposure to the sun is minimal, it's important to protect the face from the sun's rays. For instance, a person should wear a baseball cap even if they are just running to the grocery store.

Always wear sunscreen. Dr. Sadati prefers that his facelift patients wear SPF 30 or higher, and recommends that they buy the sunscreen lotion rather than the spray-on sunscreen. Whether it is cloudy outside or a bright sunny day, facelift patients must protect their faces with sunscreen.

Dr. Sadati finds that patients who take these precautions seriously will enjoy their facelift results for many years to come. By staying out of the sun and wearing sunscreen anytime they are outdoors, patients will find that their faces will look young, fresh, and vibrant for up to 10 years after their operation.

"By taking the necessary steps to protect themselves from the sun right after their operation, patients will reap the benefits of having a beautiful, naturally younger appearance for nearly a decade," Dr. Sadati notes.

Patients who are interested in the facelift procedure are welcome to set up a free cosmetic consultation with the surgeon. At this appointment, patients will find out if they are a good candidate for the facelift as well as have a custom surgical plan created for them. In addition, Dr. Sadati will go over specific instructions for post-operative care that address the patient's individual needs. For more information about the importance of sun protection after a facelift surgery, contact Dr. Sadati today.

Physical Therapist and Marketing Expert, Nitin Chhoda, Educates Private Practice Owners on How to Avoid Negligence in Their Practice

Denville, NJ (PRWEB) June 15, 2013

Most patients simply have one goal: to get better. Although most patients have the best intentions, some patients in the medical industry are simply looking for a malpractice suit. International private practice marketing expert, Nitin Chhoda, says that there are four Ds of negligence. These include duty, dereliction, direct cause and damage.

According to Chhoda, healthcare practice owners might or might not have their reputation damaged or have less clientele due to the malpractice suit. However, medical professionals should know that they could be liable through the actions of their staff. "In order to avoid the four Ds of negligence, medical staff in physical therapy private practice office has to follow proper procedures on a day-to-day basis," he said.

The first of the four Ds, duty, refers to clinicians and staff having to perform a duty to their patients. Staff in physical therapy private practice office must provide the most accurate diagnosis and care while using their education and experience to help heal the patient. Physical therapy office staff has a duty to inform patients of any potential problems they observe during an examination. In the meantime, physical therapy staff is under no obligation to provide medical information about any condition they notice with strangers in the office.

Chhoda said that the dereliction of duty is the second of the four Ds of negligence that refers to any actions a physical therapist may fail to take. Failing to perform an action can have as much impact on a patient as simply performing an action that affects a patient, and healthcare staff can be held responsible for any injuries or damages it could cause. Chhoda says, If a medical professional observes a skin condition that could be cancer but neglects to inform the client, its a breach of duty.

The third D of negligence is direct cause. Chhoda said that this is when a medical professional knew about a potential risk, did not inform the patient and the client was injured as a result. The medical professional is now the direct cause of the patients injury and is at fault.

The last D of negligence is damages. This refers to the damages patients can collect in a lawsuit. Damages are a form of financial compensation to the patient due to negligence and can include lost wages, medical expenses and mental duress.

The most important thing for medical professionals and private physical therapy offices to remember is to be vigilant. They must also know when to say something to a patient and when not to. By following these simple rules, physical therapy offices have a better chance of succeeding if ever faced with a medical lawsuit.

Chhodas office can be reached by phone at 201-535-4475. For more information, visit the website at http://www.emrnews.com.

Beauty Expert Paula Begoun and the Paula's Choice Research Team Share Tips on How Women Can Give Their Skin More Antioxidants for a Youthful Glow

Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) December 28, 2012

Antioxidants are an absolute must for radiant, smooth, younger looking skin. Whether part of a well balanced diet or applied topically, antioxidants can help the complexion. Internationally known beauty expert Paula Begoun and her Paulas Choice Research Team share tips on how women can give their skin more antioxidantswithout spending a lot of money.

A key tip: Dont focus on one miracle antioxidant touted by a cosmetics company. There are so many great antioxidants, and when used in combination they help skin look and act younger, while also repairing damage. Just like a diet, eating one food with antioxidants, like grapes or spinach, wont keep the body healthy and young. Likewise for skin care, when women get caught up in the search for the best antioxidants, it almost certainly guarantees they wont end up using the best products. With this in mind, here are five easy ways to add more antioxidants to any skin-care routine:

Southern California Gluten/Food-Allergy/Toxin Expert Linda Crawford Rolls Out One Day VIP Fast~Start Program

Fountain Valley, CA (PRWEB) January 10, 2013

The search for healthy living through allergy-free eating is at an all-time high. People are looking to lead healthier lifestyles and live longer while still being able to live productively in a fast paced society. Linda Crawford, founder of Lifestyle Changes 2 Health, is a health coach who is an expert in gluten-free eating, managing food allergies and avoiding toxic home products. She has recently expanded her services to include an all-in-one-day program that helps clients understand the mechanics of reversing gluten-food allergy symptoms. This four-hour VIP Fast Start Program is a hands-on experience directly with Linda.

During this four-hour program, Linda takes her clients to a local Whole Foods Market, a national health food store, for a customized tour to learn about non-GMO foods, skin-hair care, and non-toxic household products to use. Crawford explains what clients should incorporate as well as avoid in order to reduce symptoms, soothe inflammation and heal the body from the inside out. This program is designed for clients to participate and gain first-hand knowledge while having a hands-on experience in learning how to make changes that often provide a noticeable improvement in symptoms, health and weight loss.

Having a strategic plan that works for both a personal and work schedule is a key element in getting started. People know they need to make changes, but dont know what steps to take next, so they feel paralyzed states Linda. The missing link is a hands on support system to guide and provide real-time information and tips throughout the process which can be overwhelming without help. This is where I am unique as a health coach, both in shopping and in your kitchen. I have faced my own challenges with gluten and food allergies for the last eight years. So I understand the frustration and uncertainty of not knowing what to buy or avoid during your meal planning.

People whose bodies cannot digest gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley are prone to a triggered immune system that attacks the lining of the small intestine, causing diarrhea, bloating, brain fog and abdominal pain as some of the known symptoms. Unfortunately, the diagnosis is often elusive, costly and may be delayed for years. The good news is that people are taking a stance on their own by seeking the assistance of health coaches, like Linda, who will help them get their immune systems, eating habits, and lifestyle moving in the right direction again.

Individuals who want to get their eating and health habits under control with a gluten-free diet, reduce existing food allergies symptoms, and increase their energy levels can find more information about Linda Crawfords Fast Start VIP Day Program on her website at http://www.LifestyleChanges2Health.com. Linda recently hired Cheryl Heppard, a Michigan business coach, to help expand her services regarding her VIP Day offering.

Santa Monica Dermatologist, Dr. Ben Behnam, and Santa Monica Hair Transplant Expert, Dr. Sean Behnam, Launch Their New Websites Focused on Treatment of Acne, Skin Cancer, Laser Procedures and Hair Transplant

Santa Monica, California (PRWEB) January 23, 2013

Sean Behnam, M.D., and Ben Behnam, M.D., of Santa Monica California are excited to announce the release of their new websites. To meet the needs of Santa Monica citizens who might be in need of hair transplant, skin cancer treatment, laser procedures and/or acne treatment, Dr. Sean and Dr. Ben Behnam have recently launched their new websites focusing on these treatments. Dr. Behnams Dermatology center in Santa Monica has increasingly relied upon the cutting-edge laser technology that is used for an array of minimally invasive cosmetic skin treatments such as acne scar removal and wrinkle removal.

Much like past traditional CO2 treatments, the Fractional CO2 skin treatment increases collagen production improving the skin complexion. Fractional CO2 laser does not have the prolonged downtime associated with the traditional CO2 treatment sessions. Fractional CO2 laser therapy is an ideal solution to treat acne scars, skin damage, wrinkles, discoloration, or just improve the overall complexion of skin.

At Dr. Behnams Dermatology center, laser acne removal, laser wrinkle removal, and laser hair removal are the most popular laser treatments. Women who wish to have smooth legs and underarms without the hassle of shaving can achieve the same goals with laser hair removal treatments. The procedure is powerful enough for lasting results but delicate enough for the face. Men who dont wish to shave their beards daily can also benefit from using this cosmetic option.

While laser procedures make up an important part of Dr. Behnams practice, there are a number of other offerings, including hair transplant, available to patients. Dr. Sean Behnam is Santa Monicas prominent Hair Transplant Surgeon offering cutting edge Hair transplant surgery. He is known nationally and internationally for his innovative surgical methods, excellent artistic vision, and his gift to put his aesthetic vision into reality. Dr. Behnam is actively involved in researching new and better ways of hair restoration. Over the past few years, he has developed ways to minimize swelling after hair transplants, minimize scabbing, minimize pain, and increase graft survival. Dr. Sean Behnam is among the select few physicians honored with the prestigious Patients' Choice Award this year. Following the publication of Santa Monica Hair Transplant Dr. Sean Behnam's selection for the Patient's Choice Award, Dr. Behnam also received the Compassionate Doctors Award. An exclusive recognition plaque has been designed to commemorate the honor.

Dr. Sean Behnam is a fellow researcher, an innovator, a teacher, and an artistic leader. Over the past few years, he has modified significant steps in hair transplant surgery for its aesthetic value. He has also made the process easier for patients. His intense effort in modifying hair transplant practice has led to less downtime, minimal to no swelling after the procedure, minimal scabbing, minimal bruising, and better patient experience overall. Dr. Behnams patients who have had previous procedures elsewhere say that his care and attention to artistic details make the experience in his clinic a total joy. Dr. Behnams patients describe it as relaxing, rejuvenating, and an artistic transformation.

Other dermatological offerings include acne treatments. Acne is an inflammatory condition of the skin that could have a significant psychological impact on the patient. There are many different forms of acne including whiteheads, red pimples, as well as cystic acne. A lot of times these acne lesions could be very tender and painful. It is very important to treat acne at an early stage in order to prevent scarring. Scarring from acne could present in many different ways including red patches that might not go away for months to years, raised lesions or more commonly depressions on the skin. The treatment of acne has changed over the last several years. With better medications, we are better able to control acne at an earlier stage and more aggressively.

The most common treatment for acne is topical creams. These creams include topical clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, or Retin-A. Clindamycin is a topical antibiotic. It kills the bacteria on the skin and is also anti-inflammatory. It is typically combined with benzoyl peroxide in order to increase its efficacy. Retin-A is great for patients that have lot of whiteheads and blackheads. Unfortunately, Retin-A can sometimes be very irritating, thus Dr. Ben Behnam, Santa Monicas prominent dermatologist, recommends using it every other night on the face very sparingly. It is also recommended to use a moisturizing cream with Retin-A. In addition to Retin-A, Differin is another topical prescription cream that is similar to Retin-A but is used mainly in lighter skin individuals.

In addition to topical creams, there are also oral antibiotics. The traditional antibiotic that has always been used is Doxycycline. Doxycycline works great in killing the topical bacteria on the skin as well as reducing the inflammation thus reducing the pimples. They could also help in reducing the redness that persists after acne. Unfortunately, oral antibiotics do not work in everybody thus it is recommended that patients should give a fair trial to the antibiotics for 2 to 3 months. If it does not work then Dr. Ben Behnam typically switches them from Doxycycline to Minocycline or even Keflex. Bactrim can also sometimes be used.

Lasers have become very popular over the past several years for acne. Dr. Behnam, an expert in lasers used for acne and acne scarring, typically likes to combine various laser modalities in order to treat acne. Photodynamic light therapy with Levulan is a form of a laser where the Levulan chemical is applied on to the face for about 20 to 30 minutes and then the patient sits under the red light anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. This procedure is done every other week typically about 3 times. The patients could experience some redness as well as scaling after the procedure. However, the procedure helps in shrinking the oil glands and improving acne.

Red light and blue light can also be used to treat acne. Typically patients are recommended to have the procedure done 2 to 3 times per week typically alternating between the red and the blue light. In addition, photofacial lasers, known as IPL, and Vbeam can also be used to treat acne. It is typically done every 3 to 4 weeks on the face and it helps in reducing the acne lesions as well as reducing the redness.

Chemical peels may also be used to improve acne and acne scar. Glycolic peels, Jessners peels, and VI peel can be used to exfoliate the face and improve the appearance of acne. It is typically done every 4 weeks on the face. Some patients may peel depending upon the degree and strength of the chemical peel used.

Clarisonic is an electronic brush that Dr. Behnam recommends for acne patients. Patients use the electronic brush on a nightly basis, which helps to exfoliate the face, remove the dirt that plucks up the pores on the skin. After using the Clarisonic brush, patients can continue using topical prescription creams. Overall, there are many different treatments for acne ranging from topical to oral to chemical peels at best to lasers. Every patient is different and may require combination of these different modalities to help with acne scar. Dr. Ben Behnam is a Board Certified Dermatologist Practicing in Santa Monica, California that specializes in all skin diseases as well as acne.

Having a routine skin check once or twice a year is very important. The skin is the largest organ of the body and throughout the years, the skin gets exposed to the sun on a regular basis. Despite the fact that most patients think that they are never in the sun, the reality is that the 5 minutes that it takes them to walk from the parking lot into their office buildings over the years add up and could cause significant damage to their

Expert Beverly Hills Hair Restoration offers 6 Tips to Achieve Healthy Hair and Prevent Hair Loss that Won't Break the Bank

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013

But, there are some hair care and hair loss solutions that don't involve reaching into your purse for your credit card. Expert Dr. John Kahen M.D., medical director of Beverly Hills Hair Restoration, offers these 6 tips to achieve and maintain healthy hair.

"You don't always have to buy every latest and greatest hair product to achieve and maintain healthy hair. Simple changes in lifestyle and every day hair care regimens can curb dry, damaged, or thinning hair," said the medical director of Beverly Hills Hair Restoration.

Here are the hair transplant clinic's six tips to achieve healthy hair and prevent hair loss:

1. Look to your diet

Look at your diet to determine if you are eating a well-balanced diet and if you are lacking in any vitamins or nutrients. Nutritional deficiencies take a toll on the body physically, and not getting enough vitamins and nutrients can affect the health of your skin and hair. Vitamins like biotin, Vitamin E and even pre-natal vitamins can assist with keeping hair healthy.

2. Wash hair regularly to prevent hair loss

Wash your hair regularly to prevent build-up and eliminate the potential presence of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) from forming in the hair follicles if you are already noticing hair loss. The word "regularly" varies for everyone - but if you tend to use styling products, it's best to wash everyday or every other day to avoid clogging the pores in the scalp and causing build-up.

3. Avoid alcohol-based hair products

Try to eliminate or use very little of alcohol-based hair products. Hair products containing alcohol evaporate very quickly, but take with it the natural oil production in the hair that prevents dryness. Look for "alcohol" in the ingredients that can also be masked as "alcohol denatured", "methanol" and "isopropyl".

4. Limit the use of heat styling

Try to put down the blow dryer and curling iron occasionally to avoid breakage and dryness since excessive heat can weaken the follicles. Get a blow dryer with different heat settings and use a diffuser to target the air flow.

5. Avoid hairstyles that pull on the hair

Avoid hairstyles that pull the hair back tightly, such as a too-tight ponytail or hair extensions. Constant strain on the hair can cause breakage and even hair loss if worn often enough.

6. Take a day off

Pick one day each week to give your hair a break, from styling, heat - all of the damaging habits that you do to your hair everyday. Take a Sunday and swear off the blow-dryer, curling iron and hair extensions to give your hair a rest.

Marketing Expert Says Seasonally Based Businesses Can Boost Sales by Using On-Hold Marketing to Manage Increased Call Flow, Reduce Hang Ups

Portage, Michigan (PRWEB) May 07, 2013

As the warm weather heats up, call volumes to seasonal businesses heat up, too. And when it does, says Julie Cook, CEO of Easy On Hold, those businesses should take advantage of the increased call volume by marketing to callers on hold with custom music and advertisements.

Businesses like vacation resorts, golf courses, RV dealers, outdoor attractions, landscaping, air conditioning and home repair services see an upswing in call volume during the spring and summer months. Its one of the best times to manage the increased hold time by introducing a custom on hold messaging program to close more sales. It really works, Cook say.

If your business generates most of its revenue in one or two seasons of the year, you must do everything you can to educate your callers on what you can do for them. Youll also improve the on hold experience, not to mention reducing hang ups, because youve improved the on hold experience, she adds. Strike while the weather is hot and youll see sales increase.

Cook says that silence on hold can cause hang ups or frustration because the caller perceives theyve been left unattended or forgotten. If you receive a barrage of interested callers all at once and put them on hold in silence, how many will still be there when you pick up the line again? The answer is, not many. In fact, an AT&T study showed that after 60 seconds of silence, most callers put on hold will hang up, and half of them will never call back, Cook says.

She says examples of on hold messaging content includes a sale or special offer, packages, financing deals, and tips and ideas for how to use your product and service. Think of the time-sensitive information that you know they need to know or want them to know; this information can programmed into the on hold player with start and end dates so your callers dont hear old information, Cook says. If your phone system only takes files, we can accommodate that, too.

Cook says that the goal is to think like your customers are thinking. Once school lets out for the summer, families are on the move, searching for new activities, exploring, needing service on their vehicles, or looking for an easy care hair style, Cook says. This seasonal upswing can be a perfect time to use your on hold messaging and music to create a mood, and keep your customers interested in what you have to offer.

Seasonal marketing boosts from well-written copy, combined with just the right style of licensed music, are what we do exceptionally well, Cook adds. Weve helped companies ranging from a local pool cleaning service to regional credit unions offering great summer rates on home remodeling loans, right up to working with prime vacation destinations and large cruise lines. Sure, managing the cash flow and hiring the right employees are vital aspects, but its also important for a seasonal business to take advantage of every affordable marketing option--like on hold messaging--to get the most out of their prime sales periods.

Cook adds, Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos, says that the telephone is the best branding device out there, and he couldnt be more astute. I encourage all businesses, big and small, to follow Hsiehs lead by viewing your phone as an important asset to their marketing efforts. For as little as $ 39/month, you can have professional on hold messaging and music. What business can afford not to do it, at that rate?

Easy On Hold, http://www.easyonhold.com, created in 1997, provides professional telephone recordings, music and on hold message productions, auto attendant, IVR, voicemail greetings, and web audio to companies around the world.

Orange County Facelift Expert Discusses Proper Care of Facelift Incisions

(PRWEB) May 28, 2013

"I feel it's essential that patients and caretakers understand what needs to be done during the recovery process," said Dr. Sadati. "Taking proper care of the incisions after the operation will ensure that there is minimal scarring on the patient's face."

In the blog post, Dr. Sadati identifies the following tips for taking care of incisions after a facelift procedure:

First and foremost, check the incision area for infection every day.

Avoid showering and shampooing hair until at least 48 hours after the operation. Patients should wait until their bandages are removed before they shower or bathe.

Wear sunscreen at all times, and keep the scars protected from the sun every day for at least a year. Patients should wear sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher regardless of whether it is a cloudy day or a sunny day.

Incisions should be cleaned each day during the recovery process.

Patients should purchase new makeup to wear after their operation. No makeup should be placed on or near the incisions, but should instead only be used to disguise any bruising that might be present on the face for several days after the surgery.

Patients should rest with their head elevated for 48 hours after the operation. This is one of the keys to a successful recovery and ensures the best results. Elevation helps to reduce the swelling on the face as well as minimize the pressure on the incisions, allowing the surgeon's best work to shine through in the end.

Do not remove steri-strips. Steri-strips are designed to fall off on their own when they are done protecting the incision.

Cold compresses can be used to help manage pain and keep the swelling down near the incision area.

Most patients who opt to have a facelift procedure performed want natural-looking results and want the procedure itself to remain discreet. Taking care of the incisions will help minimize the appearance of scars on a person's face, as well as ensure long-term results for the patient. It's important that any patient who is undergoing this particular surgery follow any and all post-operative instructions provided to them by Dr. Sadati.

"I make it a point to create custom recovery instructions for each patient so that everyone's individual needs are addressed," said Dr. Sadati. "These tips will help any patient through the recovery process, but it's important that they also follow the individual instructions that I provide them with prior to the surgery."

Through his extensive consultation process, Dr. Sadati gets to know each patient on an individual basis. He is careful to analyze many different factors before confirming that an individual is a good candidate for the facelift procedure. For him, it's essential that all patients understand the importance of the recovery process and its impact on their long-term results.
