Hair Loss Expert Dr. Alan J. Bauman Launches Nations First Certified Hair Coach Training Program for Hair Stylists and Salons

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) November 21, 2012

One of the first conversations hair loss sufferers have about their concerns isnt with their doctor, significant other or friend - more often than not, its with their trusted barber or stylist. With that in mind, internationally renowned hair loss expert Dr. Alan J. Bauman recently launched the countrys first Bauman Certified Hair Coach program to teach hair stylists and salons how to help consumers by catching hair loss early, tracking it, and understanding what they can do to fight it.

ABC television news station WPBF Channel 25 in West Palm Beach recently reported on Baumans new Hair Coach program and its innovative solutions for salon owners, stylists and consumers. Watch the TV news report: http://youtu.be/E7UIBTszuNg.

Over the past 15 years, Ive treated thousands of men and women suffering from hair loss, said Dr. Bauman, founder of Bauman Medical Group in Boca Raton and a board-certified hair restoration physician. In many cases, these patients werent aware that they had hair loss until it became very noticeable. By the time hair loss is visible to the untrained eye, youve already lost 50 percent of your hair in that area. Early hair loss intervention is key, which is why our specially trained, compassionate and caring hair stylists and salons are so important - theyre the first line of defense to help men and women catch it early.

The Bauman Certified Hair Coach program is a day-long interactive, hands-on training class that teaches cosmetologists, salon owners and other beauty professionals how to identify the early signs of hair loss and gather scientific and highly accurate hair measurements with the new HairCheck

Hair & Nail Salons in the US Industry Market Research Report from IBISWorld has Been Updated

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 24, 2012

With industry operators giving their best efforts to offer services in line with changing consumer sentiment, the Hair and Nail Salons industry held steady against the recession. Over the five years to 2012, IBISWorld estimates that revenue has increased at an average annual rate of 2.0% to an estimated $ 46.4 billion. In addition to standard haircuts, many salons offer facials, hair modification treatments like perms and straightening, massages and deluxe manicures and pedicures. According to IBISWorld industry analyst Caitlin Moldvay, with persistent and widespread unemployment during the period, consumers were less willing to spend on these high-value discretionary services, opting for basic haircut services. Consumers also decreased their number of salon visits, stretching out the time between appointments. These changes in purchasing patterns caused revenue to dip slightly during the recession. However, declining unemployment and a slew of new products and services in more recent years have favorably impacted industry revenue, causing demand for hair and nail salon services to rebound modestly and grow by an estimated 2.8% in 2012.

The Hair and Nail Salons industry is highly fragmented, dominated by nonemployers or small businesses spread across many locations to be close to key consumer markets in high-traffic locations. Over the past five years, companies have continued to enter the industry, attracted by its stable consumer base and low barriers to entry. For example, an industry operator can simply be a hair stylist or nail technician that rents a booth from a hair or nail salon. As such, enterprise growth has remained strong, despite a drop in consumer sentiment and slowdown in spending, says Moldvay.

Economic conditions are anticipated to improve over the five years to 2017, with industry revenue forecast to increase at an average annual rate of 3.6% to $ 55.4 billion. Declining unemployment during the period is expected to drive per capita disposable income growth. Equipped with larger budgets, consumers will likely favor professional salon products and services over the cheaper alternatives sold at drugstores. Meanwhile, environmental concerns are expected to become more prevalent over the next five years, which will lead salons to offer a wider array of eco-friendly products that appeal to emerging consumer preferences. Our Town America Pledges to Help Hair Salons Stay a Cut Above in 2013

United States (PRWEB) February 04, 2013

Even in the recession resistant hair care industry, a rapidly changing economic environment has many salon and barbershop owners searching for answers. Theyve tried every marketing tactic in the book and still cant find a way to separate their salon from the competition.

NewVo Beauty Applauds Salons' Decision to Use Healthier Products

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) April 11, 2013

On April 11, NewVo Beauty commends several salons' decision to begin offering healthier, natural beauty and hair care products, as reported in a recent article on Cleveland.com.

According to the article, chemical-free, produce-based beauty products are on the rise. This has led to a surge in green-focused businesses that are catering to alternatives of conventional beauty products and services. The article reports that salons are among the businesses that are beginning to offer healthier products and services.

The article surveys several of these progressive salons and their owners. The use of chemical-free shampoos, conditioners and treatments are bringing in customers who are looking for ways to switch over to an environmentally sustainable beauty regimen.

The average woman puts more than 500 chemicals on her body each day, says Christine Vadala, the co-founder of GlamNatural, a vegan cosmetic company in Akron. From shampoo and conditioner to deodorant and foundation, we expose ourselves to a laundry list of ingredients -- many of which can be harmful.

Another beauty expert points out that more than half of what we put on our bodies gets absorbed by the skin, a frightening statistic if the product contains chemicals you can't pronounce.

NewVo Beauty, a beauty supply company committed to providing quality products to their customers, commends the forward-looking salon owners for making a change to help better their clients' health. These healthier product options include organic, vegan and hypoallergenic products that consume fewer natural resources and have a smaller environmental footprint. Some of the latest products are even safe enough to eat. Together, these salons are taking a stance on the environment.

Women dont realize how much harm they are causing to their own bodies just from the beauty products that they use on a daily basis, says Sara Greenstone, a representative for NewVo Beauty. We encourage the use of products made by Pureology, which not only has hair care products that are sulfate-free, but are also committed advocates to protecting the environment from harmful ingredients that are traditionally used to make these products. Pureology exemplifies the trend of premium beauty products that push aside the notion that natural hair care cannot also be high quality.

NewVo Beauty sells over 5,000 professional beauty salon products. Committed to providing quality, hard to find products and great service, NewVo Beauty offers high-demand salon merchandise at affordable prices. Theyre available 24/7 to answer any queries to ensure customers have a great buying experience.

Available appointments are posted same day, as well as for the coming two days, making it possible to schedule discounted weekend appointments as early as Thursday each week. Instant booking also means customers will not compete with crowds trying to redeem a deal, worry about coupons expiring, or receive sub-par service.

Making Last Minute even more convenient, customers can sign up for a daily email to receive updates on the latest Last Minute offerings in their city, as well as pay for appointments with SpaFinder Wellness gift cards, which are redeemable at over 20,000 wellness providers worldwide.

Whether you need to recharge, get a quick beauty fix, or find a great workout after a tough day, booking a last minute appointment can often be impossible to find, requiring endless searching and phone calls, said Pete Ellis, CEO of SpaFinder Wellness. Ellis added that Last Minute is a win-win for customers and business alike.

Spa, salons, and fitness studios have long sought a way to fill appointments that would otherwise gone unbooked, while customers are eager to discover new businesses and experience the very best in spa, beauty, and fitness that their cities have to offer, said Ellis. Pureology Distributor NewVo Beauty Comments on the Use of Organic Hair Dye in Salons

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2013

On May 21, following an article that details the use of organic dye products in salons, NewVo Beauty comments on the benefits of avoiding harsh chemicals on your hair.

According to an article featured in The Mayo News, organic products are making their way further into salons. Organic hair dyes are now being used because they do not harm hair like chemical dyes do. The long term effects of using a chemical dyeing process can ultimately be costly.

Organic dyes such as Organic Colour Systems contain no ingredients that are considered harmful to your hair, according to the article. Its unique soya oil-delivery system softens the cuticle, allowing gentle heat to open it, working the colour into the hair shaft, creating a permanent result. The most notable ingredient missing from it is ammonia. The dye contains no harsh smell like traditional chemically enhanced products do.

Hair coloring is one of the most damaging processes that you can subject your hair to, especially if its done frequently, says NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone.

The harsh chemicals contained in dyes and hair products can do more damage than good, despite what the products labels may say. In order to combat hair damage, try using more organic or chemical-free products. For example, Pureology is a great hair care line that contains zero sulfates.

The article continues to detail why more salons start using organic products. Since weve all become more aware of organic ranges in food, vegetables and clothing, it seems only natural that we should apply the same level of awareness to caring for our hair, says the article.
