EcoClean, the only 100% eco-friendly garment care company in Austin, is pleased to announce major business expansion, with the opening of two new locations, in South and North Austin. With new locations opening on West Anderson, and soon after on South Lamar, Austinites will have easier access to EcoCleans healthy and eco-friendly alternative to dry-cleaning. The company is also expanding its free delivery area to now cover 30 zip codes throughout Austin. The new locations comprise a combined 3,300 plus square feet of new space, and staff will grow over 45% with new jobs. The company will celebrate both openings with additional benefits to its PROPs partners, local Austin charities and non-profits who for the past 18 months have received over $ 7,000 combined from EcoClean in a monthly program that will also continue.
With our single Guadalupe location growing 19% in the past 12 months and the continued response and support from the Austin community, we are so excited to expand our business and have physical locations in two additional great neighborhoods in Austin, said Mark Hess, co-owner, EcoClean.
The North location celebrates its grand opening tomorrow, Thursday, May 30, with a happy hour from 4-6 pm at 2436 West Anderson Lane, at the corner of Burnet Road and between Precision Camera and Terra Toys. In celebration, from that Thursday until the following Wednesday, June 5, 35% of every sale at that store goes directly back to 4 of EcoCleans many Austin PROPs partners: SOS, Keep Austin Beautiful, KOOP Radio, and Urban Roots. These partners will be at the grand opening happy hour live, and there will also be drawings for EcoClean services, Hop Doddy dollars, free local Kombucha from Wunder-Pilz and chair massage from Clear Spirit Corporate Massage; come on out to celebrate.
The West Anderson location directly serves the Crestview, Allandale and Highland neighborhoods and offers easy access from 183, Mopac, and 2222 for customers coming in from all over North and Northwest Austin.
The West Anderson and South Lamar locations are in popular revitalized retail areas stocked with other Austin unique and independent brands and businesses. Both were selected for their progressive, community-minded neighborhoods and easy access for immediate and outlying communities.
The South Lamar EcoClean store will open in June at 2149 South Lamar near Oltorf and will also celebrate a grand opening event, with details to follow soon. The 1,700 sq ft space will have a clean modern aesthetic with easy access parking. In selecting an additional location, EcoClean zeroed-in on south central Austin early on.
78704 represents our largest customer base by far, outside our campus area. We are delighted to bring our business closer to the residents of Zilker, Barton Hills, Bouldin Creek, Travis Heights and South Lamar who have been so loyal - and driven so far - all these years, said Kerstin Shoberg, general manager, EcoClean.
EcoClean offers full service garment care without the unhealthy toxins associated with traditional dry cleaning. Using only water, biodegradable soaps, and conditioners to clean garments, the EcoClean process called Wet Cleaning is considered by the EPA to be the safest alternative to dry cleaning available. EcoClean rolled out the forth generation of its Wet Cleaning technology at its production facility on Guadalupe last Fall. The machines are able to clean even fine wools and silks that have traditionally been considered no-nos for water based cleaning. More on the EcoClean process, and the dangers of traditional dry cleaning, can be found on the EcoClean website at http://www.ecocleanaustin.com/wet-cleaning/.
