East Bay SPCA Offers Discounted Puppy And Kitten Total Wellness Packages To Help Publics Furry New Additions Start Off On The Right Paw

Oakland, Ca (PRWEB) May 14, 2013

With spring comes an increase in the number of puppies and kittens born, and the East Bay SPCA wants to ensure that every new puppy or kitten owner does his or her best to make sure their pet starts off on the right paw.

Puppies and kittens need special care during the critical early stages of their life to ensure strong growth, as well as good health later on, says Dr. Gwen Gadd, staff veterinarian for the East Bay SPCA. Protecting your new puppy or kitten from parasites and knowing what vaccinations to give and how often can be confusing. Thats why were offering discounted Total Wellness Packages for puppies and kittens. We want to make it easy for pet owners to keep their new babies happy and healthy.

Dr. Gadd adds vaccinations, health examinations, and flea treatment are all preventative forms of medicine that help detect issues early, and can treat current conditions before they worsen. Health issues such as internal parasites, skin parasites and viruses like parvo in puppies can be prominent in young animals and if left untreated, may cause life-threatening illnesses, and can pose a threat to humans and other pets living in the home. Having your puppy or kitten checked out early will help ensure you have a happy, healthy new addition to your family.

Between May 15 and June 15, clients of East Bay SPCAs Full Service Veterinary Clinic (8323 Baldwin St. in Oakland) can take advantage of a $ 65.00 Total Wellness Exam that includes a first examination, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming and flea treatment.

Unfortunately, this is the time of year we do see more puppies and kittens coming to our Veterinary Clinic suffering from flea infestation, worms and even parvo, said Veterinary Clinic Manager Tracie Cota. Thats why we wanted to offer our clients a price break so they can do everything necessary to ensure the total health and wellness of their newest family member.
