Connecticut Community Foundation Awards More Than $373,000 in Grants & Sponsorships to Area Nonprofits

The Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF) awarded its first round of grants for 2013 to area nonprofits for program support, arts and youth, leadership initiatives, literacy, nonprofit assistance, senior services, health and travel. Funding, which totaled $ 338,139, came from funds established by area donors and included grants from the Saunders Fund for the Sick and Infirm of the Borough of Naugatuck and the Southbury Community Trust Fund. In addition, CCF awarded $ 35,150 in sponsorships in this first round of 2013 funding for public events hosted by nonprofits in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills. In 2012, sponsorships totaled more than $ 50,000 to support 60 libraries, historical societies, and arts, cultural and environmental organizations for one-time programs, symposia, and public events.
