Permanent Make-up Correction Options and Camouflage and Corrective Services are Well Received at Long-Time-Liner

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

The modern woman seeks effortless beauty, naturally defined features, and more free time. So she looks to permanent cosmetics to enhance her beauty and simplify her life. Luckily, the modern woman has many options when she chooses where to receive her services. Like any industry, there are primitive methods, cutting edge, state of the art techniques, and everything in between. Unfortunately, in the past, there were not so many options, and many were literally permanent changes.

Today, there are many women living with choices they made in the 80s and 90s concerning their permanent beauty. Methods consist of soft-tap, where a technician manually imbeds drops of color into the skin through a tapping method of a very sharp knife, and more. There is tattoo make-up, where a tattoo artist uses an actual tattoo gun to draw shapes into the delicate flesh of the face. Then, permanent cosmetic machines, developed to be gentler and more precise, have emerged and run the gamut of cheap and rudimentary contraptions to highly developed and meticulously engineered pieces of machinery. Whatever the method, some technicians, pigments, or devices can leave permanent damage to the skin, and the overall look of the clients' face.

These past mistakes have created a rise in demand for corrective services. Over time, a womans face will change, due to gravity, the aging process and exposure to the sun and environment. Permanent make-up also changes. The colors fade, migrate beneath the skin and blur. Strong pigments hang on, while weaker pigments exfoliate and metabolize from the skin.

Sara Moulton Talks Supermarket Fraud and Honey on the Rachael Ray Show Monday, April 22

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 19, 2013

Sara Moulton will be on The Rachael Ray Show, talking about supermarket fraud Monday, April 22. Viewers will learn what to watch out for when they go shopping so they dont get duped and one of the subjects they will cover is honey.

An investigation conducted by Food Safety News (FSN) revealed that more than 75% of so-called honey sold at grocery stores, big box stores, drug stores, and restaurants in the United States did not contain any pollen, which means it is not real honey, said Mary Ross of The Mohawk Valley Trading Company where they specialize in varietal honey.

Varietal honey is made primarily from the nectar of a particular type of blossom or flower. To capture the unique character and flavor of the blossom or flower, beekeepers must study botanical bloom and flowering patterns when planning hive placement.

In addition, Ross continued, the recent admission of two of the largest honey suppliers in the United States in their involvement in smuggling and mislabeling honey from China is testament to the fact that the only way to guarantee that consumers are getting pure honey is to buy directly from reputable honey purveyors.

Honey Holding, doing business as Honey Solutions, of Baytown, Texas, and defendant Groeb Farms, Inc., of Onsted, Michigan, two of the largest honey suppliers in the United States, have both entered into deferred prosecution agreements with the government, subject to court approval, with Honey Holding agreeing to pay a $ 1 million fine and Groeb Farms agreeing to the payment of a $ 2 million fine. Both companies have agreed to implement corporate compliance programs as part of their respective agreements, according to the United States Attorney Office, Northern District of Illinois (http://www.justice.gov/usao/iln/pr/chicago/2013/pr0220_02.html). The cases are United States v. Douglas A. Murphy and Honey Holding I, 13 CR 138 and United States v. Groeb Farms, Inc., 13 CR 137, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Honey has been used by humans since ancient times for its health benefits and as a sweetener and flavoring for many foods and beverages, with tea being the most popular. Next to maple syrup, it is the most popular natural sweetener in North America.

Honey bees make honey by collecting nectar from flowers and regurgitating it into beeswax honeycombs inside their hive. Beeswax is a natural wax produced in the hive of honey bees of the genus Apis and one of its most popular uses is beeswax candles and as an ingredient in natural skin care products.

The flavor and color of honey is determined by the type of flower the bees gather the nectar from. Therefore, when cooking or baking with honey, it is a good idea to taste the honey before using it in a recipe. For example, a dark honey like tulip poplar-black locust honey will result in a strong, heavy, pungent flavor, whereas orange blossom honey will result in a delicate orange flavor. Dark-colored honey is considered to be higher in minerals and antioxidants than light-colored honey and one of the most well-known dark-colored honeys is buckwheat honey. Raw buckwheat honey contains a higher amount of minerals and an antioxidant called polyphenol, which gives it its dark color. The health benefits of buckwheat honey are many and well-known.

If you are planning to buy honey for its health benefits, it must be raw honey. Heating honey (pasteurization) destroys the all of the pollen, enzymes, propolis, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals, and aromatics. Honey that has been heated and filtered is called commercial, regular or liquid honey. The rawest honey available is comb honey which is sections of the hexagonal-shaped beeswax cells of the honeycomb that contain raw honey that have been cut from the wooden frames of a beehive.

Using raw honey is a long-term investment strategy for optimal health and personal care; the dividends are overall mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Like a blue chip stock, raw honey should be included in any health-conscious consumers immune system boosting portfolio and the return on investment of substituting honey for refined sugar in the human diet is incalculable.

Pure honey is kosher since kosher honey must be 100% honey with no additives or dilutions, and to get the best price when buying large quantities of honey, look for a company that sells bulk or wholesale honey.

Organic honey from the United States is a myth because the country is too developed and uses too many agricultural and industrial chemicals to for the production of organic honey. Honey bees are free-roaming, wild creatures and it is impossible to guarantee that, while foraging, they have not come in contact with prohibited substances, like pesticides.

Another product made by honey bees and used by humans is bee propolis. Propolis is a resinous substance that honey bees collect from tree buds and bark or other botanical sources and mixed with beeswax, nectar and pollen. This mixture is used by bees to seal gaps in the hive and by humans for its health benefits and as a traditional, natural or homeopathic medicine.

The Mohawk Valley Trading Company offers the highest quality unprocessed natural products they can produce namely; maple syrup, honey, beeswax and natural personal care products. In addition, they offer natural stone, tea and spices from around the world.

Five Beauty Pranks You Can Stop Believing on April Fools Day

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) March 28, 2013

It seems there are as many beauty myths as there are pranks on April Fools Day. The problem with most beauty myths is that they arent all that funny where the health of skin is concerned. Also, not amusing is how many people are fooled by common beauty industry pranks (so every day can feel like April Fools Day at the cosmetics counter).

Cosmetics Cop Paula Begoun and her research team set things right with the following myth-busting facts. Take a closer look at these common beauty pranks and find out why theyre bogus:

1. MYTH: Parabens as preservatives are harmful. This is one a lot of people believe, yet it has been proven false by verified scientific research from the European Union, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan the list goes on. Besides, plants like carrots or blueberries are natural sources of parabens (and there arent any complaints about those, are there?). Let go of this one because parabens are not hurting skin or threatening anyone's health.

2. MYTH: Alcohol-based products arent bad for skin and can actually be helpful. Yes, alcohol helps ingredients penetrate, but so do lots of other, gentler ingredients. Besides, alcohol gets ingredients into skin faster by destroying the substances that keep skin healthy (and act as a barrier to the outside world). There are plenty of alternative ingredients that dont have the harmful long-term consequences of alcohol-based serums, moisturizers or toners. Find the best alcohol-free products for all skin types here.

3. MYTH: There are miracle ingredients that replace lasers, Botox or other cosmetic procedures. The infomercials for these products are so seductive! Cindy Crawfords anti-aging melon extracts, lab-engineered peptides, 50% Vitamin C serums while more come with incredible claims but heres the truth: no skin-care product can have results that best or equate to a cosmetic procedure (Botox doesnt even work like Botox if it isnt injected). So if a skin-care products claim sounds too good to be true, its probably a beauty prank (and a waste of money, too).

4. MYTH: Everyone needs an eye cream. Nope, this one is 100% false. There is nothing unique about a product labeled eye cream, because products designed for the face use the same types of ingredients, but offer more product for the money. Be savvy and use a good serum or moisturizer as a double-duty beauty product for the face and eye area. Need extra-rich moisture for the eyes? No problem, just look for an extra-rich facial moisturizer. See our top picks for moisturizers here.

5. MYTH: There are products that can get rid of cellulite or stretch marks. It would be wonderful for women everywhere if this were true! However, if it were true, then who would have cellulite or stretch marks? The cosmetics industry, and many doctors and aestheticians, want to sell products and/or provide treatments (especially expensive ones) claiming to eliminate stretch marks or cellulite, but unfortunately its just another myth. Stretch marks and cellulite develop far under the surface of skin, beyond where topically applied creams or gels can reach. The same goes for preventative creams or treatments; they cant prevent a thing (except possibly dry skin). So what does work for cellulite and stretch marks? Topically, look to prescription tretinoin (brand name: Retin-A or Renova) or talk to a dermatologist about laser treatments to improve the appearance of both concerns.

Weight Loss and Fitness Expert Mike Nelson to Speak at the Leading Training Fitness Conference, April 13 in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Alexandria, MN (PRWEB) April 10, 2013

Weight loss expert Mike Nelson, an adjunct professor and member of the American College of Sports Medicine, will be a featured speaker at the Leading Training & Fitness Conference, April 13th at the Alexandria Technical & Community College in Alexandria, Minnesota (http://www.miketnelson.com/fitness_conference).

Nelson, who recently addressed the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival, will be discussing Metabolic Flexibility, which he describes as the ability to use the right fuel at the right time to lose weight and reach your fitness goals.

For those interested in losing weight, the biggest mistake I see people make at the gym is doing very long sessions on the treadmill, said Nelson, who holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics). When in realitythey just are not training with the necessary intensity to really burn fat once they stepped off the treadmill.

According to Nelson, whose research has been published in scientific journals, The secret to losing weight, and building lean muscle mass, is doing high intensity workouts or weight training sessions. A high intensity workout not only uses up the bodys carbs, it continues to burn stored fat for hours afterwards. A high intensity workout, combined with the proper diet, is the fastest way to lose weight through Metabolic Flexibility.

Nelson says there are three things people interested in faster weight loss can do to enhance their Metabolic Flexibility and lose pounds.
