NewVo Beauty Recommends Pureology Products for Damaged or Color-Treated Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) February 25, 2013

NewVo Beauty responds to various hair care myths and recommends Pureology products as a nourishing option for regular or damaged hair.

A recent article in the Florida Courier debunks common hair-care myths. Old wives tales and ineffective products that claim to treat or rehabilitate hair often have a placebo effect because people want them to work, says health scientist and hair-care advocate Audrey Davis-Sivasothy. But many of these ideas and products actually do the opposite of whats intended, and they delay the user from seeking out real solutions.

Davis-Sivasothy addresses five oft-repeated myths about hair care. She makes the point that there is no quick solution for making hair grow thicker, stronger or faster. Trimming hair is often thought to make hair grow back faster or thicker, she says, but this is a misconception: Since hair is dead, cutting the ends has no effect on what happens at the scalp. This myth probably has its origin in the fact that freshly-cut hair appears thicker since all of the freshly trimmed hairs now have the same, clear endpoint, she says.

She also urges people not to misunderstand the idea that washing your hair too often will dry it out. While this is true, she says, Hair can be cleansed as often as you like without dryness, provided you use the proper products to retain moisture. Water is not the culprit, says Davis-Sivasothy; its the stripping shampoos and mediocre conditioners we use that are to blame.

Another important myth addressed in the article is the notion that products made for or marketed to a particular race or ethnicity cannot be used by those of other backgrounds. This is simply false, says Davis-Sivasothy. Most products have the same set of base ingredients, and what sets products for various ethnic hair types apart is usually that they contain more nourishing oils and proteins than those for other hair types. This means they can moisturize better, making them perfect choices for people with damaged hair.

NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone responds to this point, agreeing that ingredients are key, regardless of how a product is marketed. We like to single out Pureology products, which have received much acclaim for their ability to protect and maintain color-treated hair, says Greenstone. While they are designed and marketed for this purpose, weve found that their products give great results for people with undyed hair, too. Since their formula is gentle and super-conditioning, theyre a perfect option for people with damaged hair.

NewVo Beauty Recommends Pureology As Cancer-Preventing Hair Products

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) March 04, 2013

On March 4, Sara Greenstone, a representative from NewVo Beauty, comments on an article published by Fox News explaining that many cancer-causing ingredients are found in hair and body care products.

According to Fox News, February is National Cancer Prevention Month. The National Cancer Institute estimated that one in two adults will get cancer at some point in their lifetime. Many of the cancer causing products are used for the skin and hair, but there are ways to prevent it, Fox News reports.

The Environmental Working Group, according to Fox News, said that the ingredients to avoid when picking hair or body products are parabens, formaldehyde and petroleum distillates.

Greenstone said many shampoos contain parabens. Parabens are chemicals often present in shampoo and hair treatments that have been linked to cause cancer, she said. There are some hair brands that make sulfate and paraben free products, like Pureology. When you use natural products, your hair feels better and you are avoiding harsh chemicals that can cause cancer. Its a win-win!

Greenstone said many Brazilian straightening treatments and keratin processes use formaldehyde which is also a main cancer-causing ingredient in a lot of straightening treatments. However, Some products like the Keratin Complex shampoos and treatments are formaldehyde free. Greenstone advised those who are trying to avoid cancer-causing products to look at the ingredients before purchasing.

Sometimes people look at a product and see the term all natural, she said. However, that doesnt necessarily mean that there arent chemicals in there that could be harmful to your body. Its always important to look at the ingredients, so you can be sure that the products are safe and do not have those three cancer-causing ingredients in them. Only then can you prevent cancer.

Pureology Retailer, NewVo Beauty, Offers Opinion On Treating Curly Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) March 06, 2013

Sara Greenstone, a spokesperson from NewVo Beauty, offers opinion on an article published by the Telegraph on how women with curly hair can maintain a healthy, stylish look.

According to Telegraph, straight hair has become the norm and women with curly hair hardly ever wear it naturally.

Greenstone said in response to the Telegraph article that curly hair is a bit harder to manage. In the fifties, curls were all the rage, and even now, waves are very popular, she said. But young women with curly hair always want it to be pin straight. Using heat to straighten hair can be very damaging, though, so I encourage women to embrace their natural locks. Curly hair tends to have frizz, but it can be managed by using different products.

Greenstone said women often dont look at products closely enough and shampoos or treatments containing sulfates or alcohol dulls hair and makes it brittle. Pureology is an all-natural hair care brand free of sulfates and parabens, she said. Curly-haired women should try using moisture or smoothing shampoos. These shampoos should block humidity from amplifying frizz and lock in moisture for healthy hair.

Curly hair needs moisture constantly, but shampoo is not always needed to clean hair reports Telegraph. It said, You may think you need shampoo to clean your hair, but you dont. Once your hair is wet, apply conditioner and massage it into your scalp. Its all in the way you clean your hair with your fingers.

Greenstone also suggested avoiding flat irons and heating tools since heat damages hair, promoting split ends and dried out strands. Applying intense heat to your hair will cause it to break and become ever more brittle, Greenstone adds.

Many women fear letting their curls air-dry, but Greenstone said curly hair will look better after drying naturally. Curly hair is beautiful and it can look great even when it air dries, she says. All you have to do is apply a light gel and let it air dry. If you pick a gel that holds without being incredibly sticky, it will keep your curls in tact as your hair dries. It will look natural.

NewVo Beauty Touts Pureology as Best Cruelty-Free Natural Hair Care

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) March 29, 2013

On March 29, Sara Greenstone, a spokesperson from NewVo Beauty, releases a response regarding the future of animal testing in the beauty industry and advocates the use of Pureology, an all-natural hair care line.

According to Belfast Telegraph, many beauty companies test products on animals. However, the article says the European Union banned animal testing in all cosmetic companies. Now, in an attempt to push global companies to comply, the EU put more restrictions on animal testing. Companies that test on animals are now barred from selling cosmetics within EU territory.

Greenstone says this would be a significant push for companies to quit testing on animals because the European market is so large. I think, at this point in time, most companies have realized that animal testing is not necessary when there are a variety of different test options, she says. Europe is known for its expertise in cosmetics and beauty products. Its one of the biggest markets in the world. Animal testing could ostracize your brand and prevent you from selling your product in the EU. No matter how big or successful your company is, this could really hurt your sales.

The new restrictions on the ban could promote other cruelty-free brands like Pureology, Greenstone says. As a generation, our needs and preferences have shifted, she says. We are more health and environmentally conscious than we have been previously. We want products that reflect our lifestyles and beliefs.

Greenstone says Pureology is sulfate-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free. Because Pureology is made from natural ingredients, it will keep your hair moisturized and clean without amplifying damage. I think its important for other companies to follow Pureologys mission and remove harmful chemicals from their products and cease all animal testing.

Pureology Distributor NewVo Beauty Comments on the Use of Organic Hair Dye in Salons

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2013

On May 21, following an article that details the use of organic dye products in salons, NewVo Beauty comments on the benefits of avoiding harsh chemicals on your hair.

According to an article featured in The Mayo News, organic products are making their way further into salons. Organic hair dyes are now being used because they do not harm hair like chemical dyes do. The long term effects of using a chemical dyeing process can ultimately be costly.

Organic dyes such as Organic Colour Systems contain no ingredients that are considered harmful to your hair, according to the article. Its unique soya oil-delivery system softens the cuticle, allowing gentle heat to open it, working the colour into the hair shaft, creating a permanent result. The most notable ingredient missing from it is ammonia. The dye contains no harsh smell like traditional chemically enhanced products do.

Hair coloring is one of the most damaging processes that you can subject your hair to, especially if its done frequently, says NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone.

The harsh chemicals contained in dyes and hair products can do more damage than good, despite what the products labels may say. In order to combat hair damage, try using more organic or chemical-free products. For example, Pureology is a great hair care line that contains zero sulfates.

The article continues to detail why more salons start using organic products. Since weve all become more aware of organic ranges in food, vegetables and clothing, it seems only natural that we should apply the same level of awareness to caring for our hair, says the article.

Pureology Retailer NewVo Beauty Offers Advice on How to Beat the Summer Heat for Your Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) May 24, 2013

On May 24, online beauty supply store NewVo Beauty suggests ways to help beat dry and damaged hair in the summer months.

According to an article on My Fox Atlanta, there are numerous elements that can cause hair damage in the summer. For example, chlorine can change the color of an individuals hair; it can turn hair lighter, or even green if the individual is blonde.

Dermatologist Dr. Rutledge Forney makes recommendations on how to combat summer beauty issues in the article. One of the most important things as soon as you get out of the pool is to rinse off. Try to get that chlorine off of your skin, and to rinse your hair off, Forney says. The article also adds that rinsing hair with tap water and then applying a leave-in conditioner can help prevent hair damage caused by pool water.

For beach goers, salt water can be just as damaging as pool water. The article states that salt water can easily dry out hair. It is important to rinse hair thoroughly as soon as possible after leaving the beach. The article also recommends wearing a hat if you know you will be in the sun, or using a thermal protection spray.

NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone says that these summer hair issues can be easily combated with the right products. In the summer months it is all about moisture, she says. You want to keep your hair and skin as hydrated as possible. Try using a hair care line like Pureology. The shampoo and conditioner formulas will keep your hair hydrated. Pureology shampoos and conditioners do not contain sulfates, which can dry your hair out even more.

Pureology Retailer NewVo Beauty Recommends Products for Summer Hair Care

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) May 31, 2013

On May 31, Online beauty supply store NewVo Beauty offers product suggestions for how to achieve summer hairstyles that promote healthy hair.

According to an article published on Female First, hair needs more attention during the summer months. Natural elements like the sun and pool or sea water can cause damage to hair. In order to protect hair, the article offers these tips:

NewVo Beauty, Pureology Retailer, Comments on the Ways to Diminish Sun Damaged Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) June 08, 2013

On June 8, NewVo Beauty responds to an article published by Medical Daily with tips to help strengthen and protect hair by using Pureology or Keratin Complex hair care products.

According to an article by Medical Daily, the sun does not actually sunburn hair like it does skin. However, as a result of exposure to the sun, hair can become dry, weak, and even cause color fading. These damages are caused by the heat and ultraviolet rays breaking down proteins in the hair.

The article suggests three ways to shield your hair from sun damage by using enhanced UV protection products:

Quick & Easy UV - There are products available that can help you guard your hair from UV rays quickly. Hair sprays or protections sprays containing SPF offer shielding. However, keep in mind that sprays do not get absorbed by hair, so it is not a permanent solution. NewVo Beauty Representative Sara Greenstone recommends the use of a thermal protection spray to keep it healthy in the summer months. Try to stay away from heated styling tools in the summer, you dont need the added heat, she says. But if you do, use a thermal protection spray which will block heat damage from the tool and in the sun. The article also suggests using a leave-in-conditioner. By giving your hair added moisture, you can help prevent hair from drying out or frizzing up.

Short Term UV - The article suggests using shampoos and conditioners that promote UV protection to achieve short-term sun shielding. These products help eliminate sun damage, but bear in mind that once washed, hair is still susceptible to sun damage. Use a hair care line like Pureology, Greenstone says. Their shampoos and conditioners offer UV filters and also give you added hydration to combat summer elements like humidity.

Long Term UV - When exposed to long term UV rays, its best to use products that replenish hairs color and longevity. In this case, a deep conditioner would work best. For extra damaged hair, protein based products will add on extra shine and help keep hair strong. Try using Keratin Complex. It adds proteins to hair and helps you regain stronger healthier hair, Greenstone says.
