NAPW Hendersonville, TN Chapter Discussed Exciting Upcoming Plans Including Support of 3 Local Charities in April

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 01, 2013

Members and guests of the NAPW Hendersonville, TN Local Chapter gathered on April 17th for a professional networking meeting.

The group of professional women enjoyed an evening of networking, getting to know one another better, and discussing upcoming plans including the support of three charitable organizations: Habitat for Humanity, Magdalene House, and Dress for Success.

The Chapter also hosted guest speaker Rhonda Talley, a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant who gave members and guests expert tips about skincare.

Chapter President Valerie Priester kicked off the meeting by welcoming members and guests.

She invited each attendee to introduce herself and tell the others about her business and/or her role in the corporate arena.

We learned interesting and valuable information about our members and guests and all the women enjoyed learning more about each other, said Valerie.

The President then led a discussion about the nominees for the charities the Chapter will support.

Valerie announced that she had met a Habitat for Humanity representative. She will pass along her contact information to one of the Chapter members so she can reach out to this representative and discuss the Chapters desire to help. One of the members will also contact Magdalene House, which is a womans residential recovery program.

We would like to have the Reverend Becca Stevens, an Episcopalian pastor who founded Magdalene House, as a guest speaker, said the Chapter President.

We will also continue our efforts to investigate church outreach programs.

Valerie also gave an update on the Chapters efforts to connect with Dress for Success. This organization has just received approval to set up in Nashville. They are putting key positions in place and hoping to have their closet open in approximately six months.

The Chapter President encouraged members to continue to think about volunteering to fill a key number of Chapter Board positions that are open: Social Media Director, Secretary, Charities Director, and Event Director.

Each member was asked to consider any other positions that may be required and invite any friends or colleagues they may know to fill these positions and become a member.

Dates for the next three Hendersonville Chapter meetings were set and the group of professional women agreed to continue meeting at Mimis Caf

NAPW Hudson County, NJ Chapter Discussed Exciting, Upcoming Charitable/Networking Events Planned for 2012-2013

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 20, 2012

Members and guests of the NAPW Hudson County, NJ Local Chapter gathered on October 26th for a professional networking meeting. The group of professional women had plenty to discuss since the Chapter has a number of exciting charitable and networking events planned for 2012 through 2013. From feeding the homeless this Thanksgiving to holding its second annual Womens Networking Brunch on June 8th, the Chapter meeting was brimming with exciting news and events.

Before formerly starting the meeting, members and guests had refreshments and networked to build on how they could help one another. NAPW Hudson County, NJ Local Chapter President LaTrenda Ross then kicked off the event by enthusiastically welcoming the attendees, who included one new member RoseAnn Purdy and two new guests Sazzn Landa and Lori Wilson. After reading aloud the Chapters Mission Statement, LaTrenda addressed the crowd.

The NAPW Hudson County Chapter is a shining example of women working together for their Chapter, its members, guests, and the community, she said. We are thriving and doing tremendously and we are enthusiastic about working not only on our events this year but on our 2013 projects, as well!

Before a discussion ensued about upcoming events, The Chapter President announced the need to fill three Chapter Board positions: President and Vice President Event Coordinators; Secretary, and Photographer/Media Relations Specialist.

Chapter members and guests then began to brainstorm and discuss potential projects including an event to be held January 12th, the Hudson County Chapters Beautiful Inside and Out Spa Makeover Day for the Hoboken Homeless Shelter Womens Group.

The planning stages are underway for this charitable endeavor. Delores Daniels, our acting President Events Planner, is hard at work coordinating this event, said LaTrenda.

Members and guests were asked to get involved by donating their unwanted and unused makeup that perhaps they dont need or is the wrong color, and to ask relatives, friends, places they shop, and makeup artists to donate their makeup to give to the women as gifts at this upcoming event.

This past June, the Hudson County, NJ Local Chapter honored four women at its first Womens Networking Brunch. Monique Smith, Owner of the hair salon Monique Techniques, was one of the women honored. Every year, her salon hosts a Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless and she asked members and guests for their help in making the event a success. The response from the group was overwhelming; five women signed up to participate. More volunteers are always welcome. The hours are anywhere from 9:00am to 2:00pm, Thursday, November 22nd. This includes setting up and serving dinner.

We also discussed our second Womens Networking Brunch that will be held next year on June 8th. We talked about honoring six rather than four women, said LaTrenda.

The Chapter President said next years event needs a theme and also asked members and guests to suggest names for the honorees.

For our Womens Networking Brunch, we want to honor extraordinary women who are working hard to improve her own life and/or the lives of women, children, and her community, said LaTrenda.

The Chapter is also planning two events in April 2013 including the first-ever Yoga and Mediation Mind, Body, and Soul Member and Guest Day as well as the Chapters 2nd Annual Back to School Backpack Drive.

This year, our Backpack Drive was a huge success and we need to make it bigger by having a goal of collecting 150 backpacks to distribute to two or three nonprofit organizations, said LaTrenda. The backpacks will go to children in Pre-K through eighth grade.

The Chapter President had one more request of the members and guests and wanted to discuss something that had been on her mind. She smiled and asked the women to put on their thinking caps for the possibility to fit one more important event into the Chapters nearly-filled calendar.

I would love to hold a Girls Conference, an event where the Hudson County Chapter could help to empower young girls, said LaTrenda. It doesnt have to be large, just something to get us started with our young women in the community.

As always, the professional women of the Hudson County Chapter have made some remarkable accomplishments and the Chapter President shared with members and guests some exciting news about Chapter member Angela McKnight.

Congratulations to Angela McKnight, Executive Director/Founder of AngelaCARES, Inc., on her one year anniversary, announced LaTrenda.

AngelaCARES, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Jersey City, NJ and was incorporated October 20th, 2011. AngelaCARES motto is A Passion to Care. The Ability to Help. AngelaCARES, Inc.s vision is to encourage a caring and helpful world and its mission is to serve as an advocate and support system for senior citizens, a support system for senior caregivers, and a mentor to the youth (educating and empowering them to volunteer). LaTrenda also announced that to show solidarity and promote the Hudson County Chapter, the Chapter is planning to have Chapter T-shirts available to members and guests.

There is nothing like having togetherness to attract members and guests and to let people know about our Chapter and the wonderful things we are doing, said the Chapter President. I am urging all members and guests who would like to purchase a Chapter T-shirt to send in your order to angelamcknight(at)gmail.com, including an extra $ 2.00 to offset the (logo) one-time set up fee.

Prices for the T-shirts, which may be customized with a members name, are as follows and payments will be collected at the next Chapter meeting: $ 25 to create the template (logo) one time set up fee; $ 8 per each T-shirt (includes a T-shirt and the printing of a logo on the shirt); $ 15 per T-shirt (includes a T-shirt, printing of logo, and customized name).

Lastly, the meeting ended with all extending their best wishes to members who were celebrating their birthdays.

How can we end a Hudson County Local Chapter meeting without celebrating birthdays? Happy Birthday to Margaret Laborde and Jeannie Adarraga! said LaTrenda. Our door prize raffle, a $ 20 Visa gift card, was won by no other than Jeannie Adarraga our birthday girl. Congratulations to all!

Members and guests in attendance were Rev. Pamela Loving-Felts, Angela Mcknight, Betty Rentas, Jyoti Nebhnani, Glenda Salley Perkins, Dolores Daniels, Eboney Rouse, Jeannie Adarraga, and Chiffon Abney.

Probiotics Effect on Sugar Cravings Discussed in New Article by eProbiotics.com

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 30, 2013

In a new article from eProbiotics.com the author discusses how probiotics and probiotic supplements are effective in curbing sugar cravings. Probiotics are the microscopic organisms that defend, or support against, over 170 disease and health conditions; most of what probiotics do start in the digestive system. The digestive system is closely connected with the immune system; with nearly 80% of all immune function starting in the stomach and intestines. This includes releasing hormones that curb the craving for sugar, this is where probiotics are proving to be very effective.

The article details how probiotics, especially Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria like L.Acidophilus, L.Bifidus, L.Plantarum, B. Lactis thrive in a healthy digestive system. Among the many ways these probiotics support health is through reducing cravings for sugar and sweets. While researchers are still researching how probiotics reduce the cravings for sugar, they hypothesize it is closely related to bacterias need to feed on prebiotics; prebiotics are carbohydrates that serve as food for probiotics.

Researchers are finding that people living in civilized countries are more frequently experiencing health issues directly related to a lack of probiotics in their system. This lack of probiotics is directly related to the western diet, and is the result of excess sugars, artificial sweeteners, processed foods, pesticides and pollution.

Scientists now have evidence that consuming probiotic supplements results in greater weight loss when compared to non-probiotic users, a direct result of probiotics ability to decrease sugar cravings. Supplementing with probiotics has demonstrated a significant decrease in sugar cravings in as little as four days, this kills of harmful microorganisms and results in weight loss.

Natural Detox Cleanse Diet for Health, Wellness, and Weight Loss Discussed in New Article by eProbiotics.com

Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 15, 2013

A new article from eProbiotics.com describes how detox diets are effective in supporting improved health, wellness and weight loss. The article details how a detox cleanse diet works, using natural foods and supplements, including fruit, vegetables and water, to flush the body of harmful chemicals and toxins from the body.

Many nutritionists believe that pollution, pesticides and treated water contain small amounts of harmful contaminants. Over time, these harmful chemicals and toxins accumulate in the body, often in the fat cells, and may cause significant health issues. Since most detox diets use fruit and vegetables as food sources, the diets tend to be low in fat and calories and result in weight loss.

The article details how detoxing helps the body remove these harmful toxins from the body, in the process, returning the bodys fat burning hormone production and metabolism return to normal levels, supporting additional weight loss, improved energy production, increased liver function, and improved circulation.

The author provides specific tips for starting a detox diet, including avoiding most solid foods, opting instead to consume fruits, vegetables and supplements in the form of raw, natural juices. Other tips include drinking 2 to 3 quarts of fresh water, increasing fiber intake, and including fat-burning foods and probiotics, both proven to increase the production of leptin, the bodys fat burning hormone.

While often overlooked when detoxing, probiotics should be included in the detox process. When included through high-quality probiotic supplements or through food that are rich in probiotics, probiotics are proven to significantly improve the gut cleansing process. Probiotics are not only essential to a healthy digestive system, but also for supporting against 170 known health conditions, including weight gain and obesity.

A free guide on cleansing foods and intestinal health is available at http://eprobiotics.com/free-report. The free guide has been made available to show people which natural foods they can begin to eat to increase healthy bacteria and improve overall intestinal and gut health.
