Rock The Locks is a natural and organic kids hair product line recently launched by two working moms, Lori Derr, twenty-seven years experience in the hair industry and Joie McKim, nine years experience in the retail industry. The natural and organic hair product line was created exclusively for kids, to be a safe and effective product for childrens hair care and styling.
When searching for hair care products for their children, both Lori and Joie noticed the amount of harmful chemicals that were added to childrens shampoo, detanglers, and other hair care products. Together they set out to create a line of natural and organic hair products that were safe and fun to use on their children.
I was shocked when I realized what harmful chemicals were being used in my kids shampoo, such as unsafe color dyes, sulfates, and parabens. These are the same harmful chemicals I read about in all my parenting magazines Lori Derr
All Rock The Locks products are free of alcohols, dyes, sulfates, parabens, gluten and even dairy, making them safe for children of all ages.
In addition to being natural and organic, Rock The Locks products are delivered with a patent-pending spray technology that uses compressed air to deliver the product, without using aerosol.
My son has curly hair and I couldnt find any childrens products that would enhance his curls and tame his frizz. I didnt feel comfortable using adult products with harsh chemicals on a two year old. I wanted to use safe styling products on his hair, so I set out to create my own, soon after Rock the Locks first products were developed. Joie McKim
All product formulations were created by hair care product expert Paul Mazzotta, owner of Cospro Development Corporation located in Reading PA. Paul has over 40 years experience working in the hair care and products industry, and has successfully launched numerous hair care product lines.
Working closely with Lori and Joie, Cospro was able to develop an exclusive product formulation that met all the requirements of an organic and natural product line, including fun smells that are made from essential oils. The resulting Rock The Locks product lineup consists of a shampoo, detangler, curl booster, anti-frizz and flex styling sprays.
Rock The Locks products are currently available online at rockthelocks.com, where customers can purchase individual products or The RTL Pack which consists of all 5 products.
Lords and Ladies Salons, a salon with 6 locations, located in eastern Pennsylvania will be the first salons to carry Rock The Locks products, while additional salons across the United States are currently under negotiations.
Rock The Locks products will also be available in select retail stores across the United States within the next few months.
