Dr. Moore attended lectures on a variety of topics in venous disease, including a particularly informative talk on pelvic venous congestion. The vein surgeon also heard about the newest improvements in varicose vein and spider vein treatment, and returned to his Winston-Salem vein center with advanced knowledge he can put directly into practice to improve patient outcomes.
Based on the information presented during the meeting, I will be making several small changes in the way I treat superficial vein disease, said Dr. Moore. For example, small modifications to our procedure for venous ablation of the greater saphenous vein should help reduce the risk of DVT after the procedure.
Dr. Moore found the conference to be highly valuable and says he will be in attendance again next year as a newly inducted member in the elite society.
