The two main sponsors of the wedding contest, FOX 5 and Ashton Gardens will work together to give a deserving military couple the wedding of their dreams in efforts to bring awareness to the new Ashton Gardens wedding facility in Atlanta, Georgia. Union Diamond is sponsoring wedding rings for both bride and the groom in the contest.
Operation wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the couples to win the wedding of their dreams. Entries to the contest were registered before February 4, 2012. Entries were made by visiting Myfoxatlanta.com. The contest entry called for the couples to share one of their personal stories and explaining why they should they be chosen as the deserving military couple to win the free wedding. Good Day Atlanta will be short listing the registered entries. The short listed entries will feature on Good Day Atlanta from February 13, 2013 to February 14, 2013. Viewers will be asked to log on to myfoxatlanta.com and vote for their favorite entry.
After tallying the votes, the couple with the highest number of votes will be declared as the winner. This will happen by the beginning of March. FOX 5 will periodically follow the couple as they prepare for their wedding. Every important detail from selecting a gown, cake, invitations, etc. will be aired by FOX 5. In addition, FOX 5 will also cover the wedding. The wedding would take place on April 25, 2013. FOX 5 hopes that this contest will provide a memorable event and occasion for a deserving military couple. This also aims at increasing the awareness about Ashton Gardens as a wedding venue.
Apart from Union Diamond and the main event sponsor Aston Gardens, there are many other participating sponsors for the event. Anya Bridal and Savvi Formal Wear are making the bridal dress and grooms Tux. Bob Steele Salon will take care of the hair and makeup for the couple. The entire event will be photographed by The Decisive Moment. Atlantic Limousine & Transportation will provide the Limousine for the married couple. The floral decorations will be done by Hacman Floral Design. Honeymoon Lodging will be provided by Morning Breeze Cabins. Some other participating sponsors include Spectrum Entertainment for the DJ, Classic Cheesecakes & Cakes for the Bridal Cake, and Deco Marj for the Wedding Invitations.
