Study Shows Supplemental CoQ10 May Help Heart Function

Murrieta, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2013

Professor Svend Aage Mortensen, lead author, presented his study's findings at Heart Failure 2013 Congress in Lisbon, Portugal. At the annual meeting of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology, Professor Mortensen said, CoQ10 is the first new medication to improve survival in chronic heart failure and it should be added to standard therapy.

CoQ10 can be found naturally occurring in some foods, such as red meat, plants and fish. Unfortunately, the amounts of CoQ10 found in food are not enough to positively affect a person's heart problems. Because of this, supplemental CoQ10, like Liquid Health's Hydrosoluble CoQ10, can play an important role keep one's heart healthy. However, in relation to taking a CoQ10 supplement, Professor Mortensen said, Food supplements can influence the effect of other medications including anticoagulants and patients should seek advice from their doctor before taking them.

Participants in this five-year randomized, double-blind, multi-center trial received either 300mg of CoQ10 daily or a placebo capsule with soy oil. The study participants taking the CoQ10 experienced significantly lower cardiovascular mortality than their placebo counterparts. Additionally, those taking the CoQ10 had less hospitalizations for heart failure.

We've known for years that CoQ10 is good for the heart, it's nice to have studies that back up that thinking, according to Rob Bonham, Online Marketing Manager for Liquid Health, Inc., Our CoQ10 supplement provides an impressive 50mg of Coenzyme Q10 per serving, which goes a long way to supporting a healthy heart.
