Paradise Fibers Celebrates 15 Years of Culture and Success

Spokane, WA (PRWEB) May 21, 2013

Yarn shops have closed over the last few years in the US. Paradise Fibers in Spokane has not only survived the trend but has grown steadily each year. The trend in knitting yarn and many other retail categories is moving more to online sales. This is certainly a major component of their model but customers can also shop their 16,000 foot showroom which doubles as their warehouse.

Many corporate online retailers concentrate on marketing and return on investment but Paradise Fibers focuses on people not profit. We have a lot of amazing yarn and spinning wheels but there are already other companies out there doing that. If you hire great people from the ground up and create a strong sense of ownership there is a synergy that very few of the larger retailers can touch. We provide an atmosphere where you actually want to be, employee or customer. The crew is referred to often as the Paradise Fibers Family and many employees end up stopping by on their days off for lunch or to lend a hand if the shop is extra busy. Knit night on Mondays and Wednesday night group trips to trivia at the local hot wing restaurant are a few of the regular team activities that keep work fun.

Paradise Fibers employees can eat a gourmet lunch weekdays prepared for them by Cindy who is the mother of 3 of the brothers that work at the shop. The lunches cost a mere $ 8 and are much healthier and less expensive than the fast food equivalent. Paradise offers an upscale lounge for employees with an elaborate commercial style kitchen for breaks and events including a Christmas party including a freshly prepared 7 course gourmet meal. The bank questioned the return on investment repeatedly when we were building the elaborate kitchen but they just didnt get it.

Owner, Travis Romine often arrives early to bake cookies and homemade sourdough bread for the classes and employees on the weekends. Paradise has a custom built 800 square foot knitters lounge where classes and events for customers are held. Whether its customers or employees, when you treat people with respect and warmth it can spread like wildfire and really create a great vibe and great place to be. Paradise Fibers has become a destination location for knitters and spinning enthusiasts across the globe with customers traveling hundreds of miles away for their yarn or spinning wheel fix.

Paradise Fibers celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and is expanding their private label products like their high end custom Revolution spinning wheel designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. at their yarn shop in Spokane.
