The annual outdoor event is hosted by the Vail Valley Foundation and features sports competitions from 23 disciplines such as cycling, bouldering, kayaking, and mountain biking.

The 2013 GoPro Mountain Games welcome over 45,000 spectators to Vail each summer, according to their website. In addition to the sporting events, there is art, live music, and vendors. The adventure begins on June 6 with two competitions at 10 a.m. and a free concert later that evening. On Friday, June 7, the rest of the competitions get underway and continue through Sunday, June 9th.
