IDN offers more accurate diagnosis and treatment than general physician evaluations. A recent article in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology compared diagnoses and treatments made by referring pediatricians to the diagnoses and treatments rendered by the consulting dermatologists. The diagnoses and treatments between the dermatologists and the pediatricians differed in approximately half of the cases.
