HUMAN Healthy Vending Machines Headed for Wasatch High School

Utah Healthy Vending, a franchisee of award-winning HUMAN Healthy Vending (http://www.healthyvending.com), has partnered with Wasatch High School to provide students with convenient access to healthier snacks and beverages.

Led by Mary and Jim Palmer, Utah Healthy Vending has placed healthy vending machines in Park City, Utah and surrounding areas, including at Wasatch High School.

Wasatch High School is the first school in Utah to install our eco-friendly, high-tech Healthy Vending machines, said Mary Palmer, owner of Utah Healthy Vending. Were thrilled to partner with them to bring more healthful options to their hard-working students.

Utah Healthy Vending's healthy vending machines in schools provide wholesome snacks that are a better alternative to the foods and drinks typically found in vending machines.

The USDA recently introduced a landmark proposal regarding the nutritional quality of snack foods sold in school vending machines. HUMAN Healthy Vending is positioned to provide schools with a product mix that meets the impending guidelines, so that schools can easily make the transition.

By switching to healthy vending machines, Wasatch High School is proactively ensuring our compliance with the impending federal regulations, while introducing our students to better alternatives to junk food and soda, said Wasatch Principal Shawn Kelly. This is an all-around win.

The schools new Healthy Vending Program will be unveiled on May 20th, following the Heber Valley Food Revolution Celebration weekend. The Heber Valley Food Revolution is a movement toward whole, healthy, real food in the school system and community.

Melissa Milam, founder of the Heber Valley Food Revolution, and the instrumental force in bringing Utah Healthy Vending to Wasatch High School, said, Placing healthy vending machines in our high school is a huge milestone for this community. Childhood obesity is an epidemic that threatens our entire nation, and Utah Healthy Vending is offering Heber Valley a tangible solution.

Utah Healthy Vending will also hand out free snacks to the public during the Heber Valley Food Revolution Day Fair on May 18, from 8am to 12pm, on the Wasatch High School football field. The community is encouraged to participate.
