Happily Married People Are Linked to Weight Gain

Hollywood (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

A few days ago, a report from PsychCentral.com has come out stating that happily married couples appears to be linked to weight gain. In the report, it says that researchers from Southern Methodist University found that an increase of a happily married persons Body Mass Index (or BMI) goes up over time when they are in a satisfactory relationship.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, couples who have been thinking about, or discussing separation from their partner are less likely to incur the weight penalty of the happy couples.

Its pretty well-established that marriage is associated with weight gain, and divorce is associated with weight loss, said Dr. Andrea Meltzer, assistant professor of psychology. But the extent to which satisfaction plays a role hasnt been examined until now.

Previous research had found that when people are in a satisfying and fulfilling relationship, they are more prone to good health practices. Meltzer added that those studies focused on the behaviors of people, not so much on their weight.

Ultimately, a healthy weight has shown to be a motivation by the desire to attract a partner.

Despite the happiness of a couples marriage, there are ways around fixing weight gain issues. In addition to a better dieting and exercise regimen, those who show a sign of weight related issues can use diet supplements like Liproxenol. It was recently named to The Diet Pill Review's list of the Best Diet Pills of 2012.
