Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center Provides Complimentary, Exclusive Pollen Data for Charlotte Metro Allergy Sufferers

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) April 05, 2013

Spring is here and the Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center is once again offering public information from its proprietary pollen counter. The practice gathers data from the counter daily, posting it to the Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center website, http://www.carolinaasthma.com.

Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center operates the only daily pollen counter in central and eastern North Carolina that is recognized by the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (http://www.aaaai.org).

Weve been the exclusive provider of this data for many years, says John T. Klimas, M.D., Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center. Last year, we upgraded our pollen counter and data recorder. In addition, we launched a new website where local allergy and asthma sufferers can receive daily updates on specific tree, grass, weed and mold levels.

Throughout the Fall and Spring pollen seasons, individuals who suffer from allergies experience changing sensitivities to specific pollens, depending on their specifically diagnosed allergic conditions. The Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center pollen counter offers daily insight into overall pollen conditions as well as counts for specific pollens. An individual who has been properly and completely diagnosed will know the specific pollens to watch for during peak season.

So far this year, weve seen lower allergen counts than last year, most likely due to the colder, harsher weather we have been exposed to this extended winter, adds Dr. Klimas. Unfortunately, this doesnt mean that allergy sufferers will have respite this year, just a delayed schedule to tree and grass pollens. Thats all the more reason to keep an eye on the daily pollen and mold counts.

Along with the pollen and mold data, the board-certified physicians at Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center will be providing weekly forecasts and updates on the website during the Spring pollen season. The group also will work with selected local media outlets to provide this information to the Charlotte metro area. For more information, go to http://www.carolinaasthma.com.
