On April 22, an earthquake measuring 7.0 hit Lushan, Sichuan Province, China, killing 192 people and leaving more than 12,200 injured. Aquamira, in implementing its emergency water supply systems, provided Chinese citizens with pure drinking water using the DIVVY 250 Emergency Water System.
The earthquake destroyed many villages, making it nearly impossible to obtain clean water, food, and integral medical supplies. Aquamira sent in its life-saving DIVVY water system within days of the earthquake, allowing residents access to drinkable water where there otherwise would have been none.
The DIVVY 250 emergency water supply allowed for local villagers to obtain purified water by pumping ground water through a purification and filtration system that is entirely human powered. The DIVVY 250 emergency water supply is able to convert up to 2,500 gallons of water per day without the need for fuel or other power, meeting the hydration needs of nearly 1,000 people per day per system! Since the earthquake, purified and filtered water has been supplied to those villages most affected by the earthquake, with the DIVVY system serving as the perfect emergency water supply system in even the most trying scenarios.
