Former Healthcare Professional Melissa Lunsford Is The Latest Certified Spray Tanning Technician From America's Leading Spray Tanning Training Center Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2013

Reputed spray tanning training center Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy continues to grow in terms of their reputation. They have announced their latest certified Airbrush Tanning Technician to emerge in the growing field of airbrush tanning. This form of sunless tanning is now preferred much more than the traditional form of sun tanning because it saves the skin from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. However, being an emerging field, finding a proper training platform to become a spray tanning professional is not easy. Simone Emmons, the owner and the founder of Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy, is one of the most proficient spray tanning experts in the country. She continues to run her own Airbrush Tanning business on a daily basis. Her knowledge, experience, and caring approach have led to the exemplary success of the Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy. The academy program is different because it teaches students hands-on and in private settings. The Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy only takes on 1-2 students each class because they focus on each student individually. This is why the spray tanning program has a high success rate.

Melissa Lunsford has been a successful healthcare professional teaching CPR, First Aid, and AED courses for the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association for several years. She has also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Medical Assistant for a dermatology practice. Talking about her decision to learn airbrush tanning, she says, "There are several reasons why I wanted to learn airbrush tanning and the most important one was when I was working in Dermatology, I was exposed to so many people with sun damage and Melanoma and the thought of laying out in the sun to get some color was just not an option for me anymore. I am a fair skinned person so I was always laying out or going to the tanning salon to try and achieve some color and came across airbrush tanning, which I fell in love with immediately, I could get tanner than I ever would laying out in the sun and it only took a few minutes!"

Melissa's business "Spray Tans by Melissa" is presently offering mobile spray tanning services covering the Lakewood, Long Beach, Bellflower, Cerritos, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Norwalk, Downey, Whittier, La Habra, Santa Fe Springs, Cypress, and all other surrounding areas. "I currently run a mobile business and will come to you to tan you and/or your friends and family, but I eventually want to open my own spray tan salon that offers spray tanning for individuals, groups, parties, and for those who wish to get hair tinsels", she says, about her future plans. She has also thanked Simone for all her support saying, "She taught me everything I need to know about spray tanning from actually spray tanning technique to opening my own business and I couldn't thank her enough for that". Melissa can be contacted on her website at http://www.spraytansbymelissa.com or at (562) 964-0790.

Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy is located in Los Angeles, California and offers an extensive Airbrush Tanning Certification program to anyone who wishes to learn the art and business of spray tanning. Simone Emmons, the creator of the spray tanning training program has been a professional, licensed spray tanning technician and teacher and has helped numerous entrepreneurs from Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Minnesota, Arizona, South Carolina, Oregon, Florida, California and the Island of Hawaii and Trinidad start a business in Airbrush Tanning. The spray tan program is unique because it provides hands-on and private spray tanning training to individuals who want to start an Airbrush Tanning Business. According to Emmons, this spray tanning program gives individuals a leading edge in starting an Airbrush Tanning business immediately after finishing with the training. Students have the option to choose from a full day course of 10-12 hours or two half day courses of 5-6 hours a day or through live video conferencing. The academy is also launching a website soon so students can learn Airbrush Tanning Online. Many tanning training institutions only educate students on their own equipment and products they sell, however Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy does not sell any of their own products and provides training and education on all equipment and good products in the airbrush tanning industry.

Salon Success Academy Honors Ms. Susan with Relay for Life Team

Upland, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2013

Susan Turner was well known around Salon Success Academy for her selflessness; for doing whatever it took to insure the students were happy and finishing their education. She devoted her life to Salon Success Academy before she passed away in 2012. Now the students and staff at the school are trying to raise as much money as possible for the Cut out Cancer with Salon Success Academy Relay for Life team in honor of their beloved Ms. Susan.

Susan was instrumental in creating the schools first Relay for Life team in 2009. Heather Kilgore, who was a cosmetology student at the Upland campus at the time, approached Susan about getting the school to support her familys relay team. Susan helped the Salon Success Academy Student Ambassadors organize fundraisers to raise money and attended every team meeting. That year the Fight Cancer with Jeff Relay for Life team raised the most money they have ever raised.

When I was in school, I was struggling with food for my family. Ms. Susan would check on me every day to make sure I had something to eat. If I didnt, she would buy me lunch. She bent over backwards for me. She had a big, open heart and really cared about her students, Heather said.

It was a similar story with Ryan Ledbetter and his wife, who met each other when they were students together at Salon Success Academy. Ryan suffered from ADHD, so while he was excelling at the cosmetology material, he would become restless in class and often times get into trouble. Ms. Susan fought hard to keep Ryan in school, putting him to work in the corporate office to keep him busy. He began helping Ms. Susan with school tours and new student orientations, something that would later lead to the creation of the schools Student Ambassador Program.

She was someone I could always talk to. She always knew the right thing to say to me, Ryan said. Ms. Susan was a big part of everything I love about my life. If I didnt know her, I wouldnt have my wife, my child, or my career.

Susan was always passionate about cosmetology and education. She enrolled in a cosmetology Regional Occupational Program (ROP) in high school and continued on to cosmetology school after graduation. Once she got her license, she began working behind the chair at a local salon and as a cosmetology instructor for Marinello School of Beauty. In 1988, Susan obtained her teaching credentials from UCLA and started working for Salon Success Academy. She was quickly promoted to director of the Rancho Cucamonga campus before being appointed Director of Operations for the corporate office.

Susans two sisters, Christina and April, also work in the Salon Success Academy corporate office. The women said working together was never a problem; the experience actually brought them closer together. They had a deep respect for their sister and boss and always tried to follow her example. Although, they admit getting her to stop working and relax could sometimes be a struggle. Susan took a long awaited vacation in 2010 when the family took a cruise to Mexico. Christina and April said trying to get their sister on to a boat without phone and Internet access was comical.

Salon Success Academy was more than just work to us. It was a huge part of our lives. Everything we did, we did together. Shes left a big hole in our lives that no one can fill, Christina Belcher said.

When they werent at work, the sisters would travel to Arizona to visit their parents, where they would spend time boating on the Colorado River and going to the casino. Susans family was very important to her, especially her nieces and nephews. She made it a point to make sure each one of them got their own Aunt Susie time. Her sisters said she was her happiest when she was styling her clients hair and working with the students. The feeling was mutual; her students and clients absolutely adored her.

Susan had this way of making everyone around her feel special. She was the most giving person on the planet. It didnt matter if you were a stranger. If you needed something, she would give it to you out of her pocket, April said.

Last year, Susan was unable to attend the Relay for Life in Rancho Cucamonga because she was suffering from intense back pain. However, she still helped organize the students fundraising efforts from home. The day of the event, she called her sisters every hour to get an update on the amount of money the team raised. Susan later learned that her back pain was actually uterine cancer. She passed away just a few weeks later on June 21, 2012.

Susan dedicated her life to Salon Success Academy. There was nothing that made her happier than helping the students. She was the person who shaped this school into the people helping company that it is today. We were lucky to have her and we want to do everything possible to honor her memory, Salon Success Academy owner Bob Gross said.

The Cut out Cancer with Salon Success Academy Relay for Life team is trying to raise $ 5,000 this year in Susan Turners honor. Bob Gross has pledged that the school will match the amount of money the team raises. If you would like to donate to the Cut out Cancer with Salon Success Academy Relay for Life team, you can do so on the teams website.

The Relay for Life is a day-long event at Guasti Regional Park in Rancho Cucamonga on June 1, 2013. All of the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society to provide funding for cancer research and cancer treatment.

Summer Makeup Tips and Tricks from Salon Boutique Academy

Addison, Texas (PRWEB) June 03, 2013

To stay up-to-date on current trends, Salon Boutique Academy met with makeup artist and educator Brianna Meshack-Wilks in early May. Meshack-Wilks explained the specifics of the popular current look, which involves bold lips, graphic eyeliner and dewy, luminous skin. Meshack-Wilks also said to anticipate cranberry/mulberry lips with frosty eyes to be a popular look by the fall.

Salon Boutique Academy members asked Meshack-Wilks for some tips to guard against makeup mistakes. She explained that there are three concepts that will help to avoid these common errors: receive professional assistance in selecting the proper foundation, always wear sunscreen and recognize that more is not always more.

When it comes to preventing frightening make-up meltdowns during hot spring and summer Texas days, Meshack-Wilks suggests keeping blotting film and setting powder in purses, as well as a brush to apply.

For women on the go, Meshack-Wilks recommends three tools to give them a quick boost in the shortest amount of time lip gloss, concealer and mascara.

Meshack-Wilks advice to budding makeup artists is to study the masters of the industry, find strong mentors, get educated on the current trends and take classes to enhance technical skills.

Meshack-Wilks is the PACE Makeup Program Educator at Salon Boutique Academy in Addison, Texas. This program provides comprehensive training on the fundamentals of makeup artistry techniques using the key concepts of professionalism, artistry, creativity and education.
