FACTS ABOUT AGING
The science shows each minute, our body is dying, this is a fact. Each minute that passes by our body has lost 300,000,000 cells. That means the cells that die in our body equals the population of the United States, each and every single minute. As we age less and less of those cells are replace and we slowly decay. Doctors have see people over a 100 that if cut nothing happens as there are no cells to close the wound.
Thus Aging is a result of progressive depletion of stem cells, so the introduction of new stem cells and adjunctive treatments has the potential of slowing down or reversing this process. Stem cells possess a unique anti-aging effect by regenerating and repairing organs, improving immune function, repair damaged by stress, and various toxins we are exposed to in our daily life.
Stem Cells often thought of as futuristic, controversial and unknown, are now providing the latest anti-Aging, rejuvenation and beauty secret.
THE SIGNS OF AGING
The signs of aging generally start at 40, earlier for those who have burned the candle at both ends , smokers, have been under stress or in contact with toxic sustenances and generally later for those who have had less stress, non smokers, exercised and eat properly but in the end we all will age. Some of the signs of aging are:
"This is a culture of perfection seekers," Polly Campbell says in Imperfect Spirituality. "Collectively everyone celebrates youth, money, beauty, thinness, and ambition."
That's not to say to give up on self-improvement altogether. Theres nothing wrong with a little hair dye or trying a technique to help one live well. Most people do want to look better and feel better in their skin. Everyone wants to be a better person. Personal development is valid and worthwhile when it comes from a place of curiosity and passion, when it comes from a desire to grow and to create meaning-filled lives. But too often people want to sweep away their flaws in order to measure up to some Hollywood ideal.
Everyone invests time and puts attention on fixing, changing, avoiding, denying, and hiding imperfections to match some contrived cultural expectation, rather than living from whats right and true for them. Lets do it differently. Its time to shift the focus and energy from whats wrong with us to what is right within us."

Presbyterian Homes, owner-operator of three continuing care retirement communities in the Chicago area, has added more flexibility, affordability and choice to its residence agreements to meet the changing lifestyles of older adults. Coupled with the rebounding of the real estate market, prospective residents could potentially move right into one of its retirement communities.
For prospective residents who are in the process of selling their homes, Presbyterian Homes created a deferred entrance fee plan. Now a new resident can pay just one-third of their entrance fee at move-in. The remainder is paid when their home is sold.
Retirees today want and need more choice and options, says Robert Werdan, vice president of marketing and public relations at Presbyterian Homes. We have looked at all the ways lifestyle and individual circumstances can impact needs and have built more flexibility into our residence agreements.
Presbyterian Homes is now offering a Plan A Life Care choice of a 50% or 90% refund to a residents estate with a Life Care agreement. For retirees who have purchased long-term care insurance, the organization offers a less expensive Plan B Continuing Care agreement, also with refundable options, which complements most long-term care policies.
Another new flexible feature is a $ 400 per month ($ 800 per couple) discretionary spending account. Instead of paying for a rigid monthly meal program, this discretionary amount can be spent on more than dining or entertaining a guest. Residents can spend the amount on a variety of things including concert tickets, transportation, purchases in the gift store or hair salon services. Those who are away for extended periods would receive a credit for the monthly amount.
For more information about Presbyterian Homes' continuing care retirement communities, which include Westminster Place in Evanston, IL; The Moorings of Arlington Heights in Arlington Heights, IL; and Lake Forest Place in Lake Forest, IL, call 847-866-1641.

Following the health routines and advice Carol dispenses on the BioGirl Health Show on Spreaker Radio show at 1pm every Friday should also result in an improved appearance in terms of a glowing skin, shining eyes and healthy looking hair, she maintains, as well as a boost in confidence and improved feeling of well-being.
Carol, now in her 40s, has been following a natural lifestyle since the age of 16. But then she always had good teachers - as the Michigan mum reveals in her latest show which discusses how her 99-year-old Aunt Marie still has the energy to walk her dog daily and needs no prescription medication.
Aunt Marie does admit to taking a few vitamin supplements to fill what she describes as nutrition gaps, said Carol, But shes never had to take long-term medication in her life. In fact she only started taking vitamins because she feels the soil is less fertile today and as a result foods dont contain as much nutrition as they once did.
Shes always followed what Id term a philosophy of common sense and moderation and its certainly paid off.
Carol goes on to list 10 of her Aunt Maries lifestyle philosophies on the show from eating natural foods such as butter rather than margarine, to laughing a lot and providing the body with the space and time to heal itself.
Outwith the family environment, well-known natural health advocates Dr. Steven Sinatra and Dr. Julian Whitaker also proved to be Carols mentors over the years. Today she is more convinced than ever that nourishing the body with healthy organic living results in an obvious beauty for women - both inside and out.
There is such a great need among women to know how to really take care of themselves and not only feel healthy and strong but beautiful as well, she said. A womans true beauty comes from being in the best of health and having the energy to fully engage in her own life. There isnt a cosmetic in the world that can duplicate the glow and radiance of good health, self-confidence and a peaceful mind.
Carols website BioGirlHealth.com provides a whole host of advice on how to start and continue with those natural lifestyle changes, from choosing the best flax seed oil to cleaning hair with products which wont strip it off natural oils.
More information as well as honest reviews and updated natural lifestyle research can be found at BioGirlHealth.com. Carol can be contacted at Michigan 586-859-8356.

Abbey Delray South has become the first senior living community to participate in on-site research studies with Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Faculty and PhD candidates from FAUs College of Nursing are conducting the exploratory studies on a variety of health and wellness initiatives. Abbey Delray South residents are excited about the opportunity to take an active role in helping advance the understanding and treatment of various conditions to allow older adults to lead healthier lives.
This is a great new opportunity for our community, and were happy to provide or participate in anything that promotes healthy aging, says David Randazzo, executive director at Abbey Delray South. These studies have the potential to be real game changers.
Residents love to be involved in different activities, and when I asked people here about participating in these studies, a lot of hands went up, says Abbey Delray South resident, Dr. Elizabeth Force, who has a PhD in Epidemiology and initiated the research partnership with FAU.
Its really special and unique to have a senior living community open their doors to us for these studies, says Dr. Lenny Chiang-Hanisko, associate professor at FAUs College of Nursing, who is conducting one of the research studies. We spend quite a bit of time at Abbey Delray South interacting with residents, which is extremely helpful to advance the studies and, ultimately, discover better ways to promote healthy aging.
The first study, conducted by Dr. Chiang-Hanisko and currently underway at the retirement community, is on polypharmacy and pain management across different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
An upcoming study at Abbey Delray South will be on the relationship between sleep disturbances and risk of falls. In particular, it will examine sleep hygiene the behavioral habits and environmental factors that precede sleep and may interfere with sleep.
The university will share its research findings with us, and it will allow us to learn how we can provide an even better level of service to our residents, Randazzo says. Senior living communities are always looking for ways to show how innovative and advanced they are with healthy aging initiatives, and I think partnerships like this with universities is something more will explore and try to establish.
