Yumi Media Releases a Comment on the Positive Effect of Going Meatless

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) April 26, 2013

On April 26, 2013, Yumi Media responded to a recent article posted on VegNews that discussed the weight loss benefits of switching the meat in your diet with white button mushrooms or perhaps a meat substitute from companies like Quorn.

A recent study conducted by the Weight Management Center at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health revealed that substituting meat with white button mushrooms in your eating habits could increase weight loss, with considerable results.

According to the article, the study surveyed a group of obese participants who averaged 48.4 years in age. The participants were divided into groups of two, with one group continuing their diet with meat, and the other given a cup of mushrooms in the place of meat. Those who ate the mushroom were noted to have lost an average of seven pounds and decreased the circumference of their waistline by 2.6 inches.

The findings coincided with previous research that revealed the weight-loss benefits of replacing high-energy-density foods such as ground beef with plant-based foods, or a meat substitute from Quorn or a similar brand.

Yumi Media noted the surprising results and added, Eating meat appears to be a very big gamble. Your body processes the fatty tissue and stores it as fat. Cutting meat out from your diet just seems to be the better option. Replace it with mushrooms, like the study says, or find a very good meat substitute.

Probiotics Effect on Sugar Cravings Discussed in New Article by eProbiotics.com

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 30, 2013

In a new article from eProbiotics.com the author discusses how probiotics and probiotic supplements are effective in curbing sugar cravings. Probiotics are the microscopic organisms that defend, or support against, over 170 disease and health conditions; most of what probiotics do start in the digestive system. The digestive system is closely connected with the immune system; with nearly 80% of all immune function starting in the stomach and intestines. This includes releasing hormones that curb the craving for sugar, this is where probiotics are proving to be very effective.

The article details how probiotics, especially Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria like L.Acidophilus, L.Bifidus, L.Plantarum, B. Lactis thrive in a healthy digestive system. Among the many ways these probiotics support health is through reducing cravings for sugar and sweets. While researchers are still researching how probiotics reduce the cravings for sugar, they hypothesize it is closely related to bacterias need to feed on prebiotics; prebiotics are carbohydrates that serve as food for probiotics.

Researchers are finding that people living in civilized countries are more frequently experiencing health issues directly related to a lack of probiotics in their system. This lack of probiotics is directly related to the western diet, and is the result of excess sugars, artificial sweeteners, processed foods, pesticides and pollution.

Scientists now have evidence that consuming probiotic supplements results in greater weight loss when compared to non-probiotic users, a direct result of probiotics ability to decrease sugar cravings. Supplementing with probiotics has demonstrated a significant decrease in sugar cravings in as little as four days, this kills of harmful microorganisms and results in weight loss.

The National Council for Hypnotherapy Responds to New Study Detailing the Effect of Pre-packaged Diet Foods

(PRWEB UK) 23 May 2013

According to Reuters UK, in a head to head comparison with those who ate a traditional diet, people who ate a diet of portion controlled pre packaged foods lost almost twice as much weight as those who only used advice on how to reduce calories. The study concluded that the more freedom a dieter has with their portion size and the food they eat the less of a chance they have of losing weight. Those who ate focused and bespoke diet meals have more of a chance of losing weight.

A leading nutrition expert added, When theres less structure, then participants are making more decisions, and I think too often theyre making decisions that undermine their goal to stick to a calorie target.

Results showed that those who stuck to the prepared meals lost on average 16.5 pounds and the regular dieters who prepared their own food lost 8.4 pounds on average.

Whilst some who are overweight are doing their best to lose weight through traditional methods such as dieting and changing what they eat, others are trying complementary methods such as hypnotherapy.

The National Council for Hypnotherapy is an online hypnotherapist directory giving consumers access to local hypnotherapist in their area throughout the UK. The councils members are professional and qualified and have helped hundreds of thousands of people with varying issues including habits, phobias, anxiety and weight loss as a representative explained, Losing weight can be a long, hard process and whilst methods used in the study mentioned can be helpful for some, using a fresh, unique approach and changing eating habits from within the brain can be more effective for some.
