NewVo Beauty Recommends Pureology Products for Damaged or Color-Treated Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) February 25, 2013

NewVo Beauty responds to various hair care myths and recommends Pureology products as a nourishing option for regular or damaged hair.

A recent article in the Florida Courier debunks common hair-care myths. Old wives tales and ineffective products that claim to treat or rehabilitate hair often have a placebo effect because people want them to work, says health scientist and hair-care advocate Audrey Davis-Sivasothy. But many of these ideas and products actually do the opposite of whats intended, and they delay the user from seeking out real solutions.

Davis-Sivasothy addresses five oft-repeated myths about hair care. She makes the point that there is no quick solution for making hair grow thicker, stronger or faster. Trimming hair is often thought to make hair grow back faster or thicker, she says, but this is a misconception: Since hair is dead, cutting the ends has no effect on what happens at the scalp. This myth probably has its origin in the fact that freshly-cut hair appears thicker since all of the freshly trimmed hairs now have the same, clear endpoint, she says.

She also urges people not to misunderstand the idea that washing your hair too often will dry it out. While this is true, she says, Hair can be cleansed as often as you like without dryness, provided you use the proper products to retain moisture. Water is not the culprit, says Davis-Sivasothy; its the stripping shampoos and mediocre conditioners we use that are to blame.

Another important myth addressed in the article is the notion that products made for or marketed to a particular race or ethnicity cannot be used by those of other backgrounds. This is simply false, says Davis-Sivasothy. Most products have the same set of base ingredients, and what sets products for various ethnic hair types apart is usually that they contain more nourishing oils and proteins than those for other hair types. This means they can moisturize better, making them perfect choices for people with damaged hair.

NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone responds to this point, agreeing that ingredients are key, regardless of how a product is marketed. We like to single out Pureology products, which have received much acclaim for their ability to protect and maintain color-treated hair, says Greenstone. While they are designed and marketed for this purpose, weve found that their products give great results for people with undyed hair, too. Since their formula is gentle and super-conditioning, theyre a perfect option for people with damaged hair.

Keratin Complex Retailer NewVo Beauty Responds to Damaged Hair Study

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) April 03, 2013

On April 3, Sara Greenstone, a spokesperson from online beauty supply store NewVo Beauty, issues a response to a Business Courier article revealing many women report having damaged hair.

According to Business Courier, more than half of women in the U.S. report having damaged hair. In a new study conducted by Procter & Gamble, about 57 percent of women in major cities say they have damaged hair. The article says the leading causes of hair damage are combing hair when wet, keeping hair in a ponytail and scalp scratching.

Greenstone says most women care about the way their hair looks, but dont realize the damage endured from styling. Keeping your hair tied back in a ponytail is not healthy because the hair band breaks hair, she says. Its better to keep hair loosely pinned back or tied up with a softer type of hair tie. This could help when reducing breakage.

Though combing through wet hair could be damaging and increase hair loss, Greenstone says heating tools are the real culprits. Hair is healthiest when it air dries, she says. Unfortunately, most women dont want to risk walking out the door with unkempt hair. Constantly blow drying, straightening and curling hair leads to hair thinning, split ends and damaged strands. Always remember to use an iron guard or thermal protection spray to coat the hair before styling.

Greenstone suggests replacing old hair care products with new, sulfate-free, paraben free shampoo and conditioner to avoid damaging hair. Keratin Complex products put essential proteins back into your hair, she says. Without the sulfates and parabens drying it out, your hair can grow healthier and repair itself. Though natural, organic shampoos might be a bit pricier, they are worth it.

Online Beauty Supply Store NewVo Beauty Summarizes Hair Tips for Dry and Damaged Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) May 15, 2013

On May 15, NewVo Beauty offers product advice following an article that discusses tips on how to take care of damaged hair.

According to an article by Post, hair damage is a common problem. Luckily, due to new products and some old hair tricks, there are ways to battle breakage.

For dry and damaged hair, there is no reason to use shampoo to on a daily basis. The article states that shampooing hair can strip away its natural oils that keep the hair moisturized. Daily shampooing can also make hair prone to frizz. An easy way to skip hair washes is to purchase a dry shampoo, says NewVo Beauty representative Sara Greenstone. With a dry shampoo, you can skip washes without worrying about your hair getting oily.

To really help with damaged hair, moisturizing is recommended. Use moisturizers that have natural oils like olive oil, glycerin oil, argan oil, sorbitol, or shea butter. However you must stay away from shampoos that have mineral oil and petroleum that allows the moisture to stay outside and doesnt allow it to get in, the article states.

Protecting hair from the heat is one of the most important factors when battling dry hair. To aid in protection from styling, the article recommends using a smoothing cream. When using a flat iron, opt for a ceramic based one that will help protect hair from intense heat. Thermal protection sprays offer the best form of protection when using styling tools, adds Greenstone. These sprays can easily be found at your favorite beauty supply store.

The article offers two other tips to help with dry hair; proper diet and regular haircuts. Stick with a haircut every 6-8 weeks. Hair also requires healthy fats, so a diet rich in avocados and olive oil will enrich hair from the inside.

NewVo Beauty, Pureology Retailer, Comments on the Ways to Diminish Sun Damaged Hair

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) June 08, 2013

On June 8, NewVo Beauty responds to an article published by Medical Daily with tips to help strengthen and protect hair by using Pureology or Keratin Complex hair care products.

According to an article by Medical Daily, the sun does not actually sunburn hair like it does skin. However, as a result of exposure to the sun, hair can become dry, weak, and even cause color fading. These damages are caused by the heat and ultraviolet rays breaking down proteins in the hair.

The article suggests three ways to shield your hair from sun damage by using enhanced UV protection products:

Quick & Easy UV - There are products available that can help you guard your hair from UV rays quickly. Hair sprays or protections sprays containing SPF offer shielding. However, keep in mind that sprays do not get absorbed by hair, so it is not a permanent solution. NewVo Beauty Representative Sara Greenstone recommends the use of a thermal protection spray to keep it healthy in the summer months. Try to stay away from heated styling tools in the summer, you dont need the added heat, she says. But if you do, use a thermal protection spray which will block heat damage from the tool and in the sun. The article also suggests using a leave-in-conditioner. By giving your hair added moisture, you can help prevent hair from drying out or frizzing up.

Short Term UV - The article suggests using shampoos and conditioners that promote UV protection to achieve short-term sun shielding. These products help eliminate sun damage, but bear in mind that once washed, hair is still susceptible to sun damage. Use a hair care line like Pureology, Greenstone says. Their shampoos and conditioners offer UV filters and also give you added hydration to combat summer elements like humidity.

Long Term UV - When exposed to long term UV rays, its best to use products that replenish hairs color and longevity. In this case, a deep conditioner would work best. For extra damaged hair, protein based products will add on extra shine and help keep hair strong. Try using Keratin Complex. It adds proteins to hair and helps you regain stronger healthier hair, Greenstone says.
