Long Island Surgeon Jon Turk Introduces Hydrafacial for Teens

(PRWEB) June 13, 2013

Facial plastic surgeon Jon Turk has introduced Hydrafacial X, a facial series designed to help clean and clear problem skin for teens.

Dr. Jon Turks plastic surgery practice has long been offering plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments to address the most frequent aesthetic concerns of his adult patients. Now Dr. Turk has introduced a new treatment that is tailored to meet the skin care needs of teenage patients. This innovative treatment, Hydrafacial X, is a three-part program that is meant to thoroughly clean oily, broken out skin.

The idea of Hydrafacial X came to Dr. Turk after his own teenage son had a HydraFacial performed at Dr. Turks plastic surgery practice. After the treatment, Dr. Turks son noted the improved appearance of his skin and wondered why most teens are willing to turn to dermatologists for skin treatment, but seem to avoid spa treatments such as facials. While topical dermatologic treatments can be effective, they can be drying to the skin and are often only successful on skin that has already been deep cleaned. Dr. Turk realized that this was a special opportunity to create a skin treatment to cleanse and refresh teenage skin. Whats more, this treatment can be performed in Dr. Turks medical offices, a more private and professional setting than a day spa. Working together, Dr. Turk and his medical aestheticians came up with Hydrafacial X, a three-part cleansing facial.

Hydrafacial X is beneficial to teens in that it addresses the most common skin problems faced by teenagers. The Hydrafacial X consists of three separate treatments, spaced two weeks apart. This facial is designed to:

New Teen Line is committed to educating and mobilizing teens to do green, do healthy, do good DO Naturals

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 05, 2013

As a part of New York Fashion Week, Dolphin Organics is celebrating the launch of DO Naturals in a private fete extraordinaire to introduce press, beauty editors, media and friends to their new skin and hair care line for teens. Like their flagship Dolphin Organics line, DO Naturals products are formulated with plant-derived ingredients and is free of parabens, sulfates and petrochemicals. Says Co-Founder, Nigel Hart, While other large companies are changing their formulas to include lower cost raw materials, we have raised the industry standards by including absolutely no harsh chemicals in our products. Currently, there is not a product on the market which offers the efficacy of DO Naturals in a natural formula.

There remains confusion over label claims such as organic and natural. Co-Founder Ayo Hart responded to consumers uncertainty, Our innovative Dolphin Organics ingredients labels made it very easy for parents to see what is in our products, and more importantly, what is not. With DO Naturals, we expanded upon this by adding the source and purpose of each ingredient. We want young girls to begin to educate themselves on the ingredients they use on their bodies every day.

Ayo and her husband Nigel also wanted to inspire teens to get involved in their communities. They committed to donating a portion of proceeds from DO Naturals to Friends of Karen, a non-profit which provides financial and emotional support to families of children with a critical illness. The brands credo is Do Healthy, Do Good, DO Naturals.

Dolphin Organics has created two brands, Dolphin Organics and DO Naturals. The products, including shampoo, body wash, conditioner, lotion, detangler and mineral sunscreen, are PETA certified cruelty-free and vegan. Both lines are dermatology tested hypoallergenic. All products are produced in the USA at a facility with more than 25 years of experience in the health and beauty category.

BalanceME Weight Loss Camps for Teens & Kids Support National Food Month

Asheville, NC (PRWEB) April 11, 2013

BalanceME's fitness and health weight loss camps for teens and kids join the nation in bringing awareness to National Food Month. While many view healthy food as diet food, BalanceME has created a nutrition and culinary plan that teaches kids, teens, and their parents that delicious food can be nutritious food.

In a classroom and demonstration setting, campers are taught portion sizes, taste profile, and healthy substitutions. Plus, campers gain culinary skills to understand what goes into their food and how to prepare simple meals at home.

At our weight loss camps for teens and kids, we help campers learn how their favorite foods can be prepared in healthier ways, commented John Gordon, Owner and CEO of BalanceME, Plus we expand their taste palette to include new foods they love that are healthier for their bodies.

As part of the BalanceME experience, seasoned chefs and nutritionists have designed a curriculum that shows teens the science of good nutrition, then train them on how to prepare healthier versions of the foods they already love by simpling changing the ingredients.

With this healthy, realistic plan, BalanceME campers had the highest reported weight loss of any weight loss camp for teens in 2012, with campers averaging 4.25 lbs lost per week.

Because kids face shame from peers and adults about their weight, campers at BalanceME often arrive with a negative, stressful relationship to food and feel powerless to change their food habits.

Having a good relationship with food means realizing that food is the body's fuel. It is important for campers to know that their mood, energy levels, and performance at school or in sports are all affected by what kind of food fuel they're consuming.

While it's great to try new things, it's also good to know that many of our favorites foods can be made in a healthy way, continued John Gordon, Thats what campers at our weight loss camps for teens and kids learn.

In honor of National Food Month, BalanceME is sharing some of their favorite recipes, proving that some of our nation's favorite foods can be healthy. Recipe can be found here: http://balanceme.com/health-camp-recipes/.
