Mens Health Common Skin Problems and Solutions

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 29, 2013

According to an April 22, 2013 Fox News article mens skin is exposed to a myriad of elements and harsh conditions, such as UV rays, chemicals, and infections. As such, a number of treatments for conditions such as acne, wrinkles, and rashes have been developed. These treatments, ranging from skin creams to products with salicylic acid and aloe vera have proven to be effective in treating these concerns (Go to goo.gl/jVjNN).

As it says in the report, acne is a medical condition that may sometimes require a medical solution, says Dr. Simon Ourian, Medical Director of Epione Beverly Hills. Over-the-counter skin washes may be the first line of treatment for those who get pimples occasionally.

One of the worst things to do to the skin is expose it to the sun. Depending on one's complexion, the effects of just a little sun even in winter can be problematic. Before exposure, the best prevention is sunscreen and keeping covered. The report suggests that once a burn has happened, use of vitamin E is a good first step. Take a liquid gel supplement tab and cut it in half. Then, rub the liquid over the area that is affected.

Every day I tell my patients to stay out of the sun and when they cant, to cover up and use sun block. But more than anything else in the article, I agree with the recommendation to quit smoking, says Dr. Ourian. Aside from the obvious health benefits, smoking will prematurely age the skin.

African Americans Find New Solutions to Their Skin Problems from an Unlikely Source

Asbury Park, NJ (PRWEB) May 28, 2013

In recent years, the emphasis on beauty lies in the skin, each day we see more and more customers interested in finding skin care solutions. Each individual has unique skin care problems, but some ethnic groups are susceptible to more problematic conditions. In general age spots and acne scare are problems that are common regardless of ethnicity. However other skin care problems, those more commonly occur in individuals with darker skin tones. Some of these problems include post inflammation hyperpigmentation, Vitiligo, eczema, and keloids. This skin conditions can be more difficult to treat or appear more noticeable. In order to treat these conditions, people have been looking for alternatives to invasive lasers and acid peels. Fortunately many African Americans are finding relief of these conditions which are treated with topical creams and oral treatments popular in Asian skin care markets.

Why is Dark Skin Different?

Primarily, the main difference when it comes to skin color is one small factor melanin. Melanin is the primary determinant of skin pigment, often stimulated when the integrity of the skin is compromised, such as exposure to intense ultraviolet rays. Melanin is a natural substance produced by our bodies that gives color/pigment to hair, skin, and the iris of the eye. Melanin is one reason why scars and bumps appear darker and last longer. In treatment, the goal of skin whitening is to slow or stop the body from producing more melanin.

Demographics

A recent study by the University of Cape Town suggests that one woman in three in South Africa bleaches her skin. The reasons for this are as varied as the cultures in this country but most people say they use skin-lighteners to achieve a more even skin tone and others to treat skin conditions. Skin whitening can be used to solve skin care problems, such as Melasma, acne scars, Vitiligo and hyperpigmentation.

Skin-lightening creams have been used in South Africans for many years, but they have become more common recently with the influx of people from countries such as Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo, where they are even more widespread. The World Health Organization has reported that Nigerians are the highest users of such products: 77% of Nigerian women use the products on a regular basis. They are followed by Togo with 59%; South Africa with 35%; and Mali at 25%.

Achieving a Healthy Even Glow

Changing the color of your skin to different color has to be gradual, even when treating skin problems. It's not something you decide one day that 'I want to be fair, and the next day you are white. That is not how skin whitening works, it takes time to lighten. That is why we are available to advise customers first before selling it to them said Suzzy, Founder of Flawless Beauty and Skin

The good news is there are skin whiteners have come a long way. The skin care industry, especially lightening products have become more transparent with ingredients, finding organic and natural alternatives. Whitening, lightening, or bleaching skin treatments and dark spots are now safe. Skin Whitening isnt only about becoming lighter; these treatments can help in treating serious skin issues and be used as a corrective measure for hyperpigmentation, keloids, and age spots. To ensure your safety make sure that the creams you're using are made from a combination of healthy and herbal skin whitening products from authentic dealers.

The Presence Of Bacteria in the Intestines may Help Weight Problems

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) April 11, 2013

In an article last month in the New York Times, its suggested that the bacteria found in a persons gut can actually determine if he or she will lose or gain weight. This research is linked to gastric bypass surgery, which removes part of the stomach, shrinking it, and rearranging parts of the intestines, which helps to shift the balance of bacteria in the digestive tract.

Those who have had such a surgery have lost approximately 65 to 75 percent of their body weight. Despite the positive physical reaction to gastric bypass, scientists have yet to understand why. More research into the matter has brought up the theory that bacterial changes within the body after the surgery might account for as much as 20 percent of the weight loss.

If this idea proves true, this could mean that scientists and doctors could help people lose weight without the need for surgery. This came from Dr. Lee M. Kaplan, who is the director of the obesity, metabolism and nutrition institute at the Massachusetts General Hospital. The findings of this recent research means that its possible that non-invasive treatments could help adjust the microbe level (or microbiota) in the gut.

There is a need for other therapies, Dr. Kaplan said. In no way is manipulating the microbiota going to mimic all the myriad effects of gastric bypass. But if this could produce 20 percent of the effects of surgery, it will still be valuable.

There are much less invasive and expensive ways to lose weight than gastric bypass, like using diet pills and supplements, such as Liproxenol. Because its already been shown to be a great weight loss supplement, there is no need to go through the surgery, nor will you have to wait for a new form of therapy to help you lose weight.

hCGTreatments / Diet Doc hCG Diets & Weight Loss Plans Offers Proven hCG Diet to Reduce Respiratory Problems With Advanced Weight Loss

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 18, 2013

Respiratory difficulty can hinder not only a good night's sleep, but overall health. Diet Dos has developed new hCG diet plans to increase respiratory function by targeting abnormal body fat. Over the past three decades, obesity has increased at a staggering rate and is now considered a global epidemic. Respiratory problems associated with obesity can occur when unnecessary and excess body weight squeezes the lungs and causes breathing restrictions. Diet Doc recognized the significance of Dr. A.T.W. Simeons breakthrough discovery of the hCG hormone and used his fifty-year-old research to create the most modernized and safe hCG diet available today. Todays hCG diet uses modern science and technology to effectively remove difficult fat stores that can be unresponsive to normal diet and exercise. As overweight and obese patients are generally at a higher risk for snoring and respiratory problems, the Diet Doc and the hCG diet now offers patients the ability to reduce the prevalence of sleep disordered breathing while achieving fast weight loss. The ability to lose weight fast not only increases quality of sleep, it increases quality of life as well.

In a cross sectional study of 349 subjects classified into low normal, high normal, pre-obese and obese groups, researchers from the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, India considered whether achieving lower body mass through weight loss would effectively reduce snoring. Researchers, Swati Jain, Rishabh Mishra and AK Singh, noted that people with high body mass are at a greater risk for snoring, sleep apnea and various other sleep disorders. They also pointed out that excess fat deposits in the upper airway and stomach might result in reduced openings in the lungs and collapsing airways, which can lead to snoring and other respiratory issues. The researchers concluded that even modest weight loss was effective in managing and reducing snoring and sleep disordered breathing.

In comparing the low normal and high normal groups with the pre-obese and obese groups, Jain, Rishabh and Sing determined that snoring habits were statistically significant and drastically more common in the pre-obese and obese groups. However, in comparing the pre-obese with the obese group, they determined that snoring habits were not significantly different. This finding seemed to indicate that minor weight loss, even as little as to bring an obese person down to the pre-obese range is not enough to impact snoring and obese patients would require moderate to significant weight loss, bringing them into the normal body mass groups to relieve their respiratory problems.

hCG, human chorionic gonadotropin, is a naturally occurring hormone that has been used for weight loss assistance for over fifty years. The hCG hormone is present in high levels during pregnancy and directs nutrients to the developing fetus through the stored fat supplies of the mother while leaving the mothers muscle and structural fat intact. It was the observation of this process by Dr. Simeons in 1954 that led to the idea that patients could benefit from a very low dose of the hormone and the discovery of hCG as a weight loss tool. Only Diet Doc hCG diet plans can be adhered to until all weight is lost, making it faster and more effective than outdated 23 or 40 hCG diet cycles. When taken in concert with Diet Docs individually designed nutrition plans, this improved hCG protocol effectively removes excess body fat while preserving muscle mass. The hCG diet combines a small dose of the hCG hormone with a low calorie diet to provide safe, effective weight loss to all patients.
