NYC Pain Management Specialist Presents Cutting-Edge Therapy for Hip and Lower Back Pain

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 09, 2013

Dr. Stephanie Webb, a NYC-based Doctor of Osteopathy who specializes in non-surgical pain relief therapies, is pleased to present a remarkable solution for hip and lower back pain caused by sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Sacroiliac (SI) joint injections are a safe and proven method to eradicate pain at its source and allow the patient to recover mobility, flexibility, and the ability to permanently heal and avoid future discomfort and aches in the lower back and hip area.

SI joint dysfunction can be caused by any condition that elicits an imbalance in the SI joint including injury, pregnancy, osteoarthritis, irregular sitting or walking patterns, advanced age, obesity, and more. SI joint dysfunction manifests in the form of pain in the hip and lower back area, which can be limited to the SI joint area as well as extend to the lumbar spine, buttock, and down the leg. Because the SI joints function is to accept and distribute weight from the upper body to the lower extremities, it is susceptible to injury if it is tasked with excessive weight or pressure. When this occurs, the ligaments and nerves of the SI joint are affected by inflammation and impingement, which can result in loss of normal function and pain which can become severe and immobilizing if not promptly treated.

As an expert in pain management, Dr. Webb has helped countless patients achieve long-term pain relief caused by SI joint dysfunction. The SI joint injection procedure is simple and provides prompt relief, enabling the patient to resume everyday activities and engage in the required treatment protocols to permanently correct the dysfunction and eradicate future discomfort and pain. The process lasts approximately 20 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia to ensure the patients comfort. After sanitizing the skin, Dr. Webb utilizes a sophisticated ultrasound device that produces a live image of the tissue to be treated and allows her to precisely locate the area where medication will be deposited. The anti-inflammatory solution is injected directly into the tissue of the SI joint via a sterile needle, instantly reducing inflammation in the area as well as blocking the painful stimuli produced by the affected nerves, resulting in an immediate and dramatic decrease in pain.

The effects of Dr. Webbs SI joint injections last for several months and enable the patient to engage in physical therapy and chiropractic care, which are highly effective non-surgical treatment protocols that address the root cause of pain and provide permanent relief and wellness, and are offered by Dr. Webbs physical rehabilitation team. If necessary, SI joint injections can be applied up to 3 times per year in order to extend pain relief while the patient undergoes treatment for SI joint dysfunction.

NAPW Los Angeles, CA Local Chapter Learned Secrets to Better Time Management and Productivity at March Networking Meeting

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 14, 2013

Members and guests of the NAPW Los Angeles, CA Local Chapter gathered on March 20th for a professional networking meeting.

The group of professional women heard expert tips and advice about time management from Chapter member Ruth Klein, Creative Brand Strategist and Productivity Coach at The Marketing/Time Source.

Ruth Garcia-Corrales, Los Angeles Local Chapter President, kicked off the dinner meeting by welcoming a number of new members along with other members and guests.

All of the women had the opportunity to introduce themselves and tell the group more about their careers.

The group of professional women represented so many different professions and businesses, said the Chapter President.

We then followed with the Chapters routine roundtable individual introductions.

Chapter Member Ruth Klein, MS, Creative Brand Strategist and Productivity Coach for her business The Marketing/Time Source, was the evenings guest speaker. In her presentation, Ms. Klein focused on how members and guests can achieve better time management and productivity.

Eighty percent of stress is time-induced. What is your biggest drainer? What is your biggest time energizer? Ms. Klein asked the group of professional women as she began her presentation.

Ruth urged those with large time drains to employ another person to take over those duties, said the Chapter President. She told us, Rather than do it yourself, hire someone; delegate!

Ms. Klein listed several such individuals who assisted her on occasion to relieve her of duties that freed her to do her own work: that which energized her. She quoted the 18th century German writer Goethe: . . .Plans: that the moment one commits oneself Providence moves too.

The following are highlights of from Ms. Kleins presentation and the advice she gave to members and guests:

Time tips depend on a shift from I cant-thinking to the belief that you can delegate.

Rule of Two: Prioritize the two most important things, i.e., calls, emails, or things to do.

Divide into parts: One hour of focused time, no calls or other interruptions.

The guest speaker reviewed a number of decision styles including the fence-sitter: One who cant decide. The belief behind this pattern may be feelings of not wanting to make a mistake, not look dumb, and other self-limiting beliefs.

Ms. Klein then spoke about a number of branding archetypes:

Alchemist: Important to make a difference in the world and is very creativeloves the words synchronicity and magic.

Ruler: One who gets things done and helps others to stay focused.

Nurturer: Cares about her clients and needs to be conscious of healthy boundaries.

Ruth also suggested that first thing each day in quiet, we just write our minds outpouring no formality, said the Chapter President.

She called this Morning Papers and said it helps with creativity and problem-solving.

Ms. Klein concluded her presentation by providing members and guests with a number of internet resources for finding assistants.

The Chapter President followed the guest speakers presentation with a number of announcements. She also encouraged the group of professional women to follow the group's meetings and activities on their Chapter and Facebook Pages.

The Los Angeles Chapter now has 50 members signed onto our Facebook Page, giving us the privilege of marketing ourselves and our endeavors, she said.

Other announcements included: the 2013 National Networking Conference in New York, held on April 26th. Guest speakers scheduled to appear include: Martha Stewart and Arianna Huffington.

Dr. Hess will present a workshop on Bullying and the Special Needs Child on April 10th.

Ruth Garcia-Corrales discussed a free educational program to all. She told members and guests that they can go online and enroll in elite university courses through edX. The educational programs are presented through a joint agreement between Harvard, Berkeley, and MIT. Ruth is currently enrolled in a statistics course through this group.

Under auspices of Heal the Bay, in Santa Monica, there is a fundraising event to promote the Santa Monica Aquarium, to be held on May 16th at the Jonathan Beach Club at 5:00pm.

The next Chapter meeting is scheduled for April 17th, from 8:00 to 10:00am. The meeting topic will be Spring Ideas for Fashion and Decoration. Penelope Case Management Software Application Now in Use at Mana Kidz School-Based Health Clinics in New Zealand

Waterloo, ON (PRWEB) May 31, 2013

Athena Software's Penelope case management software application is now being used to track child health outcomes in six schools involved in the Mana Kidz health clinics project in South Auckland, New Zealand.

The clinics offer free, comprehensive health care to primary and intermediate schoolchildren in the area.

The clinics were first launched in July 2012 in Counties Manukau with 16 schools participating. The number of participating schools increased for the current school year - there are now 34 clinics operating in the South Auckland area with another 19 expected to open in the next school term.

Penelope will be used in a pilot project at six of the school-based clinics initially.

The Mana Kidz project is led by the National Hauora Coalition on behalf of the Counties Manukau Child Health Alliance Forum and is funded by the Ministry of Health and the Counties Manukau DHB.

"Athena has really enjoyed working with the National Hauora Coalition and the Mana Kidz project is an exciting first step in this collaboration," said Greg Stanley-Horn, Athena Software's director of deployment projects.

"We believe there is a tremendous alignment of values with the Mana Kidz's Whanau Ora and school-based approach to health promotion and treatment. Not only will Penelope assist in providing a real-time client information management tool for managing the education, detection and treatment of rheumatic illnesses, but it will also serve as a powerful reporting tool to evidence the incidence of rheumatic fever and related issues in the Southern Counties. The Whanau support worker's outreach work will be assisted by Penelope's mobility and multi-service, family orientation and intuitive design."

The goal of the clinics is to improve the health of local children but also to increase access to primary care and reduce ethnic inequalities in health outcomes for preventable conditions such as rheumatic fever and skin infections.

The project also aims to reduce the rates of hospitalization for primary school-aged children for those conditions, while also increasing local health literacy and knowledge among the members of the school communities.

Penelope will be used to electronically store health assessments and monitor outcomes for each child treated as part of the project.

To achieve the goals of the project, Mana Kidz aims to increase the number of assessments and treatment in primary school children for targeted conditions (rheumatic fever, skin infections, Group A beta-haemolytic streptococcal sore throats) that can result in hospital visits if left untreated.

LIDA360 Issues Reputation Management Rules for St. Patricks Day

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) March 15, 2013

As the Irish (and pseudo-Irish) look forward to celebrating a day of festivities on March 17, reputation management rules can ensure personal brands are not tossed back with the Guinness.

International reputation management and personal branding specialist, Lida Citroen, principal and founder of LIDA360, stresses the importance of enjoying the holiday without damaging your dignity.

When partaking in holiday events and parties, be careful about what you say, do and post (online). Your reputation can take years to create and a few keystrokes or damaging statements to destroy, notes Citroen.

Her tips for managing your reputation and personal brand during St. Patricks Day fun, include:

-Dont post while partying. Keep your online conversations, arguments and posts to sober times, only. This ensures you can be thoughtful and intentional about how your comments might come across.

-Dont let your hair down... too much. Talking ill of your boss, coworkers, ex-boyfriend or political leaders can lead to an unpleasant representation of who you are and what you stand for.

-Watch the camera. That photo of you with the green beer and bikini top might seem fun in the moment, but when your best client finds it in his email inbox, will he laugh or will he question your judgement?

-Protect your identity. Aside from credit card identity threats that happen when were not paying attention, watch your personal identity as well. If you find yourself acting like someone youre not, others will judge you as someone different. This can limit opportunities in the future.

-Stick to your values. If a great idea starts to feel like a risky situation, listen to your intuition, beliefs and values. If you wouldnt act on an idea sober, then acting on it when youve been partying will surely not advance your reputation or standing in the community.

As you celebrate and enjoy this Irish holiday, filled with merriment and tradition, Citroen advises clients to remember to be intentional and mindful that actions create beliefs. Conduct yourself in ways that reinforce your values and beliefs and you will earn credibility.

US Weight Management Market Expected to Reach $41.8 Billion By 2017 in New Research Report at RnRMarketResearch.com

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) April 08, 2013

Obesity has reached crisis levels in the United States. Almost 70% of adults and almost 32% of school-age children and adolescents are either overweight or obese, according to the latest government statistics. Between 1988 and 2008, the prevalence of obesity increased by 48% among adults and more than 72% among children and teenagers. Moreover, according to Simmons panel data from Experian Marketing Services, almost 39% of all U.S. adults, representing 87.8 million consumers, currently are watching their diet to either lose or maintain their weight.

The causes of the increased prevalence of being overweight and obese are interconnected and complex. They include environment, psychological, cultural and socioeconomic factors as well as overeating, lack of exercise, slow metabolism, and genetic makeup. In fact, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calls American society obesogenic because it is characterized by environments that promote increased food intake, unhealthy foods, and a sedentary lifestyle. In addition, a growing spate of articles, books, and even films has charged that in its quest for profits, the food and beverage industry and particularly the fast-food industry is partly to blame for the obesity epidemic because marketers deliberately create and market foods that are nutritionally unsound and even addictive. Due to obesitys scope as a national problem, it has also become a political problem, as federal, state, and local governments try new legislation, guidelines, and initiatives to help wrestle this health crisis under control.

The global weight loss/obesity management market was worth $ 265 billion in the year 2012 and is expected to reach $ 361 billion by 2017. North America is the largest market for weight loss market, followed by Europe and Asia. North America and Europe are expected to grow at a slow pace, primarily due to the economic slowdown and market maturity. The Asian market, especially India and China, is expected to witness a boost in demand for weight loss products, and is poised to register maximum growth over the next five years, owing to the rising obesity rates and related health problems.
